Ah, well it was mostly aimed at PSP, so my apologies.
That was my mistake and I can admit it. ^^

Hmm I'll have to take another look but I always thought the PS4 english translation was correct in nearly every way, what more could be changed to make it or prove it to be correct? I figured you know consitering that you beat the PD and the Edge gets sealed away or collsapes after it dies or whatever that thats how it went not that PD was just sealed forever... If it was sealed forever couldn't it come back again? Why didn't the great lgiht make a stronger barrier in the first place? Why did you need to re-seal the thing to make it perfect in PS4 and not in the first place ?

That might go back to the great war of the spirit life forms and the battle to the death, with the Gl being near death.

Screenshots in the original Japanese will do, or even a save state. I'll translate myself.
-Corey

I was quoting the compendium summary of the first conflict.. O.o

Several Hundred Million Years Ago - In an unspecified solar system, a civilization of spirit-life forms divides, and an interplanetary war breaks out
The Great Light (IV)
A spirit-life form that, after a battle to the death in a star system in a massive nebula long ago, created the Algol Solar System and sealed away the Profound Darkness. The Great Light then gave birth to Protectors of the Seal, the Parmans, the Motabians, and the Dezolians, on the three planets, and warned them all that the seal would weaken about every 1,000 years.

I'll get you japanese PS IV Screencaps of the LE Roof Dialogue so you can translate..
it would be a good idea to see how Japanese Le Roof summarized things ^^

O_o; All I'm seeing is debating over the PD and whether it's dead or just locked away and using how you see the events or some other source as your proof.
Let's just say it's gone. Dead or not it doesn't matter, it's no longer a threat in either case. And yet at the same time it's more of a threat if the story were to continue as the removal of one evil makes way for a new one to come into play, either rebreaking the seal and attacking while everything's nice and peaceful(if it didn't die but just got locked away) or something more evil than the PD shows up(if it was killed).
But neither of those possibilities matter though since there's no continueing with the story as of now so just say the PD is gone and then leave it at that and continue with debating Rune since that's what this thread was about in the first place.

I was quoting the compendium summary of the first conflict, because supplementary materials never contradict and/or differ from the original material.

I mean, I'm not contesting that the Compendium is a great book, but I think it's flawed in some cases. It adds a lot that isn't even in the original games, in some cases entire subplots, such as the subplot indicating an intricate resistance movement existed behind the scenes in PSII...a subplot when Kapowski herself condemned.
Anyway, I'll be waiting for those screenshots. If all else fails, I can play through the whole game rapidly myself.
-Corey

[Edit by PSP on [TIME]1109387327[/TIME]]

Corey, I never said that statement completely.
Did you enjoy adding words that I didn't say?
How dare you twist my words!
I looked over my old post, I never said that whole line.
this was my statement. You can verify it above..
How can you twist my words and still think you're a good person?
No one can believe what you say or quote now.

I follow the compendium, because most of it's other information is factual. It helps to understand much.

[Edit by Lord Khyron on [TIME]1109391484[/TIME]]

(Announcer Voice) PSP delivers a low blow to Khyron, and here we go! Khyron has PSP's sweater over his head, and is deivering several blows to the head...PSP gets out, and...Oh! A huge right hook to the face of Khyron...he staggers back...Khyron delivers three devistating lefts jabs...PSP with another huge right...Khyron swings with a devistating uppercut, and DOWN GOES PSP, and the refs are on it ending this...both are going to be spending 5 minutes in the sin bin for that one...no, I believe that the Hurricanes are getting a powerplay; it appears that PSP has also gotten 2 for instigating...what a fight. So down goes PSP, and to add insult to injury, he will spend 7 in the box, while Khyron will only be in the box for 5, giving the Hurricanes the chance to take the lead late here in the second period...(/announcer voice)
Yay...fighting is fun...espically when it involves hockey! :D

Not really, I'm using the compendium to justify what I READ IN IT. Hell, You probably believe Climatrol was destroyed and there was only 100 earthmen. The PS 2 original script says otherwise, Hell, it even states where DF came from!

The Compendium was made after the games were made. And as we have seen, it does contradict some game script. The Compendium isn't entirely invalid, but game script gets priority.

If the GL couldn't destroy the Profound Darkness, how the hell could a wimpy child and 4 others?

Because it's fiction, and the Great Light created them, to grow stronger and finish what it started. You say yourself that the Great Light must have been weakened after the fight. So, a restored Great Light could kill it, eh? Well, this is where the Protectors come in. Created by the Great Light, they grew stronger and destroyed the Profound Darkness.

And you wonder why I think you're an ass...

You, just like most ccers, can't comprehend more than one definition of a word.

Both of you, honestly, can't you try to debate something or discuss without insulting the opponent if you can't convince him/her?

Says one of the anti-Episode 3 crowd..

PSO: Episode III has nothing to do with this discussion.
ThePeaGuy has been playing Episode III for a week, and he likes it. So your statement is void.

Not really, My belief is confirmed by the compendium.

And disproved by the game. You also said yourself that words can have multiple definitions.

I don't trust the english translation, look at how 2 and 3 were screwed up. I will trust the compendium and what it says. That is to be referenced to understand the series. I follow the compendium, because most of it's other information is factual. It helps to understand much.
If I see the english PS IV translation is perfect, then I will change my opinion. Until then, I will use the compendium.

You can't say that PSIV's translation is imperfect unless someone made a proper mistranslation. We didn't have any right to say that the translation from PSII and PSIII were screwed up until the Japanese version was (partly) retranslated.
Just like you said, most of the Compendium information is factual. So not all of it.

I choose to believe in different meanings of the word destroy and seal.

Which for the word "destroy" is just a double standard and can be seen as pulling a Mike Ripp.

Besides, what I believe doesn't harm you in any way, Yet you still care?

Can't the same be said about you?

Why would I believe SoA's translation, when they screwed up 2 and 3's translation?

Because the year was 1994, when many companies had much better translators for their games. There's also no hint in PSIV that hints at a bad translation.

I love being the target of a inquisition. I love the fact I never called names or accused anyone else of doublt standards, yet it is being done to me.

Actually, you did, to PSP.

I'm not saying anything else on the matter, I refuse to be a victim of a inquisition.

How convenient that you back away when asked to prove a previous point. You might as well not have bothered.
