HYPOCRISY:
The practice of professing beliefs, feelings, or virtues that one does not hold or possess; falseness.
An act or instance of such falseness.
n 1: an expression of agreement that is not supported by real conviction [syn: lip service] 2: insincerity by virtue of pretending to have qualities or beliefs that you do not really have
I do believe Corey needs to look up the definition and stop speaking like some immature middle schooler in a chat room.
"PLZ K THX" How immature!

Robotech! He is Lord Khyron.. Appears in Bye Bye Mars and stays until the final episode of Macross Saga, episode 36.
www.geocities.com/minskhyron/Videos.html
if you scroll down to the box, you can choose galleries of him from episodes.
Chances are if you saw Toonami in 1998, Robotech was on it.
Robotech has also been on the air since 1985 off and on.

I do believe Corey needs to look up the definition and stop speaking like some immature middle schooler in a chat room.
"PLZ K THX" How immature!

Well, personally, I was emphasising the 'giving credit' aspect of the segment Benoit quoted, and didn't see the point of calling someone a hypocrite for downloading/pirating products. I did, however, notice now that the person being quoted said something about respect, so very well. I take back what I said.
(So I don't think Benoit is intelligent, sue me.)
Oh, and to state the obvious:
Duh. When I say anything that a 14 year old girl would type on AIM, I'm obviously being facetious.
In regards to the designs...
I don't like the frills on Nei. I do think, however, they are setting up Nei to be in greater contrast to Neifirst. The hair designs also seem rather...bland. However, I'm willing to give it a chance, and am *really* looking forward to the release of this one in a month.
*waits for Benoit to voice his hatred against this remake too, and belittle people who import and aren't fluent in Japanese because he believes it will come out in English *someday*....*
-Corey

I want to point something out:
Though the remakes match the project settei, when the originals were released, phans did not have immediate access to the settei. They bonded with the characters portrayed in the game, however they turned out, despite the settei and how the characters were supposed to be. This is why some phans may have problems with the new, perhaps more accurate depictions.

I'm not trying to instigate anything here, but I'm just curious:
Why are you guys getting so heated over something like this? Obviously there are those of you who simply refuse to warm up to the remakes (which is fine)... but don't get so mad about them. After all, they're remakes. Where would be the fun if they made the game exactly the same as the old one? Part of the fun of remakes is to take an existing idea and expand on it.
So Nei has some frilly lace around her neck... why is that such a big deal?

Why are you guys getting so heated over something like this?

I think it's because we would like the remake to do the original justice. The remakes will be a second, more shown face of the Phantasy Star series, so we would like it to have a good impression.
I personally also fear that people are going to come over here and say stuff like this: "Ya, the remakes on the PS2 is cool, the originals looked like shit.".

Where would be the fun if they made the game exactly the same as the old one? In a way, PSIV's Alis was a 'remake' of the original one. It was a different art style, and more colored, but you could see that it was Alis, and it stayed faithful to the original.
I find the frills to be totally out of place on her, and any combat outfit. It's also suggestive to other things.

Most people on GameFAQs keep asking if the remakes are sequels to PSO, and when told they're not and that these are new incarnations of games from almost 20 years ago...well, they're shocked. As someone who recently tried PSO, I could personally take everything you just said and apply it to PSO since it's *nothing* like the original series (notice only PSIII and PSO don't use the trademark logo type...and they're the only two that stray from the core series "feel" ).

Yes, but expand on it in a good way, and stay true to the original. It's also suggestive to other things.
Art evolves. Look at any comic character. Superman in 1939 looked a lot different than today. The original X-Men looked a lot different than they do today on paper or in the movies. It isn't an insult to greats of the past like Jack Kirby or anything of that sort, it's just another artist's interpretation.
To me, the changes made thus far aren't out of line. Nei doesn't have a mohawk, Alisa doesn't look like a heroin addict hooking on the corner for her next fix...it's just another artist's interpretation.
And, *pst* Benoit? Alisa was black and white/blueish in the PSIV scene. I know the Master System didn't display a great palette of colors, but PSI was more colorful than that :P
-Corey
Edit: We can agree for once though, the frills look goofy. I will reserve judgement until the first week of March when I shoot through the game and see Neifirst though.
[Edit by PSP on [TIME]1106077749[/TIME]]

I dislike the frills due to Nei's supposed feral look.

I dislike the frills too but there's no point in keeping complaining as we know "poodle-cute" is "in" nowadays, or more "in" than feral at least.
Guys, Sega needs to sell and they have to catter to the masses, cut 'em some slack.

Call me old school, but it won't be the same with these remakes. I might like PS1 a little more than the rest because I thought the character design in the original PS1 was just bad. And I don't care if it was 1988, they could have more accurately portrayed their age.
Also, the battle mode looks a little spastic, which is one of the most annoying things in rpg can have, like when FF5 or FF tactics came out in America.
And it's anime...anime is not hot because anime is...NOT...REAL

And it's anime...anime is not hot because anime is...NOT...REAL

Question, how did you like the other PS games then? I mean, having being made in japan, it's only natural their aesthetics are anime-esque. Same as with 90% of Sega games.
Furthermore, the fact of designs being "real" or not is irrelevant to me as long as they're good, personally I don't give Yoshitaka Amano less respect than I give to, say, Alex Ross or Julie Bell.
