Over at GameSpy they have voted on games in categories.<br>Final Fantasy had its own category, but Phantasy Star did not! Unforgiveable!<p>I've posted my comment here:<br>http://www.forumplanet.com/gamespy/topic.asp?fid=1422&tid=1296353&p=27<p>Let your voice be heard!

I don't know why Phantasy Star goes unrecognized by many people. It predates Final Fantasy, and all things concerned, is a much better and original game. Also, I've heard all too often by ignorant people that Phantasy Star copied Final Fantasy!!! :@ Every time some one says that, I grill them with a bunch of PS facts and say that over elaborate summons are no match for the gameplay that PS offers. I know some of you may disagree with me, but I stand by my opinion, and yes, I have played FF games. Oh, and one final thing (forgive the pun)...when is FF going to end?! Talk about milking the cash cow! I think it would be much more epic if they made a final conclusion.<p>P.S: I think we should send a petition to GameSpy.

Yeah every since FF7 came out people went FF mad, FF7 and the rest of the FF games have the same plot every damn time, some correpted goverment is trying to take over the world, but really someone else is the big evil. (Shinra and Septh for FF7, FF6 it was Kefka and the empire, FF4 it was the Red wings and whatever it was... FF9 it was the fat queen and kuja, FF10... well.. do I really need to go on?)

Didn't PS come out before FF in North America? I remember a set of dates...1987 for PS and 1989 fo FF...keep in mind that I'm talking about North American releases. I may be wrong...so feel free to correct me.<p>Yeah, and the whole online thing...PSO comes out and is successful, so FFXI HAS to be an online game...leaching PSO's success...not to mention FFXI has FAR less quality, and didn't really break the online game mold...yet agian FF comes up short of PS.

Don't you hate it on online games when some jackass comes up to you and says "hey newbish, I p0wn jo0 L337!LOL"? That's partly why I like PSO the best out of online games. And I'm also glad someone agrees with me about FFXI leeching off PS.

Ever play Runescape? That game was horrible for that. One of the reasons I stopped playing...also, I realized it had no point...I have no attention span for online games that have no story, just quests...does Ragnarok Online have a story? I've just had bad experiences with online games in general (except PSO).

Just because a game is popular doesn't necessarly mean that it's good.<p>Final Fantasy - the greatest RPG series of all time? Don't make me laugh.<p>Final Fantasy went downhill since the release of FF7, 8, 9 and 10. The older Final Fantasy games are good, though.

i agree, lots of excellent RPGs aren't particularly recognised, popularity isn't necessarily an indication of good quality. i'm a big Landstalker fan, i love everything about the game, everyone i know who's played Landstalker thinks it's excellent, and I bet Landstalker didn't get its own category.
