I think 3D would be good but not for a remake, maybe for a side story, You are in the same world as PSII for example but you don't play Rolf and his team. You have your own path to follow but you see the PSII team, from time to time as guest stars.
In my view, The PS characters are so old (I don't mean it in a bad way) that you I wouldn't be able to play them again, I mean the story is done I know their life and have already imagined what I don't know about them, I tihnk most people have done the same.
To me they are character you can't touch anymore. ( To give an example, it's like batman, Everybody knows him and no one would enjoy a story about Batman's childhood where they might change what we already know or imagine.)
If it's not clear, I'll try to explain a bit more but right now I am short of time

If so, I like the concept. I don´t like first person games, but one placed in a familiar environment which I always had the curiosity to explore (what´s inside those forests, what happens inside the farm domes, what kind of creatures live in the mountaisn, how do the town buildings look like?).

NO 3D REMAKES, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.
Thats just what we need, 3d phantasy stars remakes for PS2, gamecube, and xbox, and w/e. Then all the retarded fanboys will come out and be like "Oh dude whats this?!!!?!1111 itz pretty!!!1111!!!!1", then theyll play PS2 because theyll be ooglin' Nei's 3d body (which WOULD probably look nice...-_-), and then get confused because it looks so pretty but its so much work to get anywhere, and then gameshark everything and theyll be level 99 walking into the Biosystems Lab because theyre lazy like that, and all these moronic fansites will popup dedicated to Nei's "hotness" , or something along those lines of stupidity. 3d will just bring idiots to come and play the games, then show up here, and we'll all become dumber due to listening to them.
What COULD work, is just a new 3d Phantasy Star (like the one at www.phantasystaruniverse.com)...,but it would have to be one with First person dungeons again. I miss those in games, they make the game more of a challenge (Wizardry....oh god...>_<)
*end rant*

Monocromatico that's totaly the point, I am glad my last post was understandable.
Maybe you could live the adventure from that point of view, surviving the tiddle wave after you saw the PS2 team going somewhere to the WEST on their jetscooter (Fighting neifirst). Then you try to fix the DAM and you see them here also. For some reasons, you could even board the ship which saved the team from the explosion of the space prison.
And you could even develop the story even after Mother brain got broken: Survive the climate change etc..
After the PS2 team broke Mother Brain, it must have been rather rought

3D remakes? Heavens no. It would be a vain attempt to glamourize the PS world which would ultimately disappoint rather than satisfy. I concur that the PS world and its characters cannot be touched. Let them remain in their glorious 2D state and to those gamers who are not graphic whores.

How about making a side quest for every characters in PS2 in the near past? Meaning before they meet up with Rolf, how they got to find out about him, why they want to help.. You know, a story that leads up to where they meet Rolf.
That could be cool :)
Daren

Yup, the text adventures that were on Sega Channel in Japan. They were later released spread over two CDs with other small games, for the Sega/Mega CD.
Games no Can Volume 1
Games no Can Volume 2
Games no Can translates to "can of games". Naflign has made clones of some of the games in English.
