PS-Gen1 Can't enter the Laconian Shield cave

There is that green bastard saying something about the tower, yet I've beaten the tower, gotten the nuts and the Open spell from the old guy in Eppi, watdu?

"If your Atlas runs out on the fourth floor, you don't need to use another-- the path has a dozen turns but it's linear. At the end you'll find two doors and a man who will give you the TORCH in exchange for the AMBER EYE we got from the Wise Dragon we fought back on Palma. We need to find the Laerma Tree and shine the TORCH's light upon it so that the tree will produce nuts that will somehow affect Myau. Talk to him again and he'll tell you the Laconion Shield is in Dezoris Cave.

Once you have the TORCH, you can leave the Corona Tower. Unfortunately, you need to return here after you heal up and save in order to get the Laconis Shield. When you return to where the Corona Tower is, go south, then due WEST until you can't go west any further, then go SOUTH. You'll find a new cave, the Dezoris Cave.

When you enter the cave, use Flash and Atlas. When you reach the first fork in the road, a Dezorian will tell you to "Go left." Suspicious much? Go right. (If you do go left, you'll end up in a death pit.) You'll travel along a linear path up and down a dozen stairways until you finally end up back on floor B1 (where you started, just in a different section of it). You can find a PSYWARD armor for Lutz here in this section of B1, but the rest of the chests in the dungeon seem to be junk. Continue on and you'll eventually get the Laconis Shield at the end."
