Making Phantasy Star better

I was wondering what everyone would steal if they could from the Final Fantasy games?

As I can only talk about the games I played I'll start with:

5. The job system would be fun to see, with a few tweaks it could really fit PS. As for spells, we dont really need any, summons might be fun, but I think they would probably not fit really.

6. lol Terra's theme. Bout it.

7. I know its not possible, but chokobo breeding and racing. I loved that mni game. A gold saucer section would be great for a Phantasy Star game.

8. Triple Triad would be ok. But nothing else as the junction system was terrible.

9. Weapons giving abilities is a hit and miss in my view. I like the idea, but hate having to leave a weapon or armour on just top get the skill. Maybe a new equip slot which has them could work.

10. The battle system which in my opinion is the best ever. A local language would be fun too. Motavian or Dezorian.

I didn't like the other Final Fantasies so nothing from them.

What do you all think?

So... making a series rather different from its competition better is to make it exactly a clone of its competitor?

I don't think that was his point. I think he's just asking what things would you like to see from another series be put in the ps series. Personally I think the FF series should be taking tips from the ps series =P, but there are a couple neat concepts that they have. A job system would be neat. I only played one of the PSO games, but if they ever made an addition to the classic series and used the class system for races that they used in PSO, then a job system would be awesome and would add some versatility to the system.

I would like to see more bows too, not just in ps3.

I think spells are plenty good in ps series, and I wouldn't want a summon system, but I think the mags would be a cool concept to add to the classic series.

Honestly I would just be happy with a new addition to the classics, with some additions from the online games.

Look I would never want Phantasy Star to be a Final Fantasy Clone.

Im saying that despite how terrible SquareEnix are at story telling (apparently they didn't even bother to expalin anything in FF13 and the new FF15) and how much rea;l time MMO sytle combat doesnt fit at all in a a godo RPG in my view. The games do have good things going for them.

Several ideas there would be great in a Phantasy Star game. Imagine a gold saucer section or chocobo breeding. That would add a lot to Phantasy star, and considering that Rykros is a thing, the elementals there could create anything and could be amazing to see.

With 3 worlds to explore and loads of things that could be added. Phantasy Star could be even bigger than it was.

Not having played Final Fantasy VII, I don't know what a "gold saucer" section would entail, but chocobo breeding is just a mini game, isn't it? I don't think Phantasy Star needs that.

Hmmm...breeding you say. I see potential here. Instead of breeding chocobos, you could breed your own Nei. Combine DNA from all kinds monsters and other places to make a custom character. Have your very own mai waifu Neifirst in your party. And that doesn't even get into the 18+ DLC possibilities... :mrgreen:
