Chaz Solo

Postby Doctor Hooves » Fri Mar 21, 2014 9:20 pm

OK, I decided to do a solo run of Chaz in Phantasy Star 4, I only started today, currently he is at level 5, I plan to get him to level 6, so it gives him some durability for the Igglanova, it took only a while for Hahn to die, but for Alys to die, now that took a few rounds. He can kill Xanafalgue's in one hit, but Zoran Bults, sometimes 1 hit, sometimes 2, So far no game over's, but there where close calls where Chaz was battered down to 3 HP, nothing a Monomate can not cure though.I will tell you's as soon as possible when I finish the Igglanova.

I finished the Igglanova at level 6, I decided to fight a few Xanafalgue's it spawned, and I gained 479 EXP points, getting from Piata to Birth Valley was no problem, In Mile a bought a steel sword, and it make fights no problem, I also picked up the Carbon Suit in Birth Valley and gave a boost to his defence, when I got to Tonoe and meet Rune, It took a small bit to have him killed off, even with no equipment, but neitherless, he died in a fight from 3 Blobs, Chaz is now at level 10, and I plan to have him at level 13 when I go into the Tonoe Warehouse. That is all for now, see you later.

Thanks!

OK, I got through Tonoe Warehouse, I got Chaz up to level 17, the 2nd Igglanova was easy, I am in the Bio-Plant, it is a really good place for experience! In 3 Igglanova battles, one I got over 3000 EXP, another 2000, and the third a whopping 9119 EXP! Chaz is at level 18, I think he does not need anymore levels, otherwise the Mile Sandworm will be too easy.

OK, when I was in the Bio-Plant, I was at higher level than I though, I was at level 19, anyway, I went to the Wrecked Ship, picked up a few things there, I beat the Mile Sandworm at level 20, It was not super easy doing it solo at that level, but not difficult, Chaz gained 2 levels from that, adding Brose to his technique pool, right now, the party is resting in Alys' and Chaz's house. That is all for now.See you later!

I'd imagine this would be very doable. Alis solo, Rolf solo, or Mieu/Wren solo would be a bitch, but Chaz solo would definitely be doable.

I completed Gy-Laguiah, I pratically broke a solo, Gy seemed impossible at level 30, I took one option of equipping 2 shields, and Use NaThu, but had not enough TP points, so ... I had Rune and Demi .... but only 2 rounds, Anyway, Juza was not hard at all, I had to heal a bit but not hard, I was goofing off seeing how much damage to Sandworms would do, well the most insane one was that one hit Gryz for 327 damage ...., anway, I hope Zio won't be super hard, see you's later.

Also, I am at the part where Alys dies :( I saved it in a file, so I just have a memory of it, or don't have to start a new game to see it ...

You'll need to do some grinding, especially late in the game, but it's doable. If this interests you, I suggest you check out the Soly Cyborg Challenge Guide. There's a guide for heroes as well.

OK, I can log into the thing again, no worries, I got back to the solo, Nurvus was no big problem, I bet Zio at level 35, fairly challenging, but fun.Chaz is now at level 37, the Fissure of Fear Hunter's guild mission got me a good bit of XP, I will level Chaz up a bit, because this is really the last chance for him to get all the XP, because when Wren joins, he will be alive for most of the time, so I will level him up to about 42, then back to the game.

Also Greneris enemies are pretty choppy, they can remove techs, lower agility and atk pow, they weren't problems, but Force Flash did about 30 damage, not so bad, but Rimit is pretty annoying, It causes Chaz to go to sleep, and if he uses Vol, it would be a game over, so they are pretty annoying. Also even at 30's, Sandworms are super powerful, I presume I won't be able to fight them till level 40.Also, I think I won't be grinding in Sacred Sword Cave, because the XP from the enemies go to the others, and cause them to gain levels. Also, Vehicle's while grinding might be a source for them to sneak levels.

Oh hey, I just figured this, but for Gy, I could have equipped the Ceramic Shield on Chaz, making Fire Breath do less damage, because with out it, it did 70-100 damage.

My attempt at level 56 did not really work out, I was not being so cautious and was very chancy, I will grind Chaz up to level 60, then will try again, if fails that time, level 63, if it fails again, a really high level ... level 70...

I hope to finish it soon!

And here I thought the Xe-A-Thoul trio would be a roadblock for you. It seems you're doing great!
