Nei beating Neifirst by herself...

Hi,

What would you guys say that the minimum level is for Nei to be able to defeat Neifirst by herself (with an inventory full of Trimate)?

Beating Neifirst with Nei is not only possible, but very doable. I will explain how:

-Level Nei up until she has at least 160 HP. Should be around level 40.
-Sh should have two Laser Bars, Jewel Ribbon, Fiber Vest, Knifeboots (all equipped). She should have Trimate fill out the rest of her inventory (have Shir steal them).
-It will require a few tries and a bit of luck. If Neifirst uses her sword attack too frequently, you will have to heal too often, meaning you will have fewer Trimates than you need to finish the battle.
-Attack on the first turn. If your HP ever drops to less than half of its maximum, use a Trimate. Note that Neifirst's sword attack sometimes takes away more than half of your HP, but it doesn't more often than it does. You will need luck on your side. If you have more than half of your HP (which should be a minimum of 81), attack. You should, with lady luck on your side, win the fight before running out of Trimate.
-SAVE RIGHT BEFORE FIGHTING NEIFIRST. I cannot stress this enough. You could do it on the first try, but it isn't likely. Of course, if you are using an emulator and are manipulating save states to prevent Neifirst from using her sword attack, you will win easily. Whether you consider that cheating is for you to decide.

Of course, Nei's fate is the same whether she is killed in the fight, whether she is killed in the fight and given Moon Dew when the other three memhers fight, or whether she wins. It's just a good challenge for veterans of the game.

The maximum level is 50. You'll need lots of patience fighting loads of Slugmesses. Blasters would work too, but it may be a bit dangerous.

Just go into Climatrol, go up to the higher levels where the tougher enemies are (after you climb up all those stairs that wrap around), bring whichever characters you plan on using for the rest of the game along (I like to rotate them), fight until everyone is out of MP, use Hinas, use Ryuka, heal, lather, rinse, repeat until Nei is at level 40 or higher.

As a side effect of stealing all the Trimate (which is a MUST - a level 50 Nei won't have a snowball's chance in Hell without an inventory full of Trimate), you'll have some Moon Dew and Star Dew. Don't be afraid to use it if you think it'll save you time. Other than that, it just takes patience.

Thanks. Playing on an emulator does speed things up too. She's at Lv36 now.

I have done this already, and she gained 5 levels in one visit to Climatrol (31 to 36). Regarding Trimates though, I don't use Shir as I know the legal duplication glitch, so I have plenty of Trimates, Star Mists, and Moon Dews. The enemies do tend to focus on Nei as well.

Only we would do something like that. By the way, I started a new game of PS II a couple days ago, and I'm already at Climatrol trying to get Nei strong enough to defeat Neifirst.

I've beaten Neifirst with Nei without trimates iirc.
I just don't remember the tactic I had.

But yes. It's very doable with trimates.
