I have decided to start the two matchups that are already set in stone a week early. They will run until February 15.
Why you should vote for Gryz:
Simply put, Gryz is an absolute tank. He has high HP, and does a lot of damage with his axe. He also has a pretty high defense. His War Cry skill is useful, particularly during boss battles. During the early part of the game, he can go at the front of your party without much of a problem, since he is stronger physically than Chaz, Alys, or Hahn. He can also equip good armor and headgear. Compared with some other characters, at least, you retain him for a decent amount of time.
Why you shouldn't vote for Gryz:
His lack of effective techniques mean that only his physical prowess makes him useful, and against certain enemies, particularly the Profound Darkness, that makes him quite the liability. War Cry IS useful, but that is it. His magic defense is low, so while he can take a beating from physical attacks, it's still very much necessary to keep his HP up - and the two most important and most difficult battles he can be involved in, Zio and Profound Darkness, extensively use magic-based attacks, meaning that his physical prowess helps very little when it matters most.
Why you should vote for Hahn:
In a way, Hahn is the anti-Gryz. His techniques are VERY useful. If you take the time to level him up, he becomes a great asset to any party. His techniques are very strong, and very versatile. He has good agility. While he isn't a physical powerhouse by any stretch of the imagination, he can hold his own in battle, and doesn't need much protection. His skills are useful as well.
Why you shouldn't vote for Hahn:
His physical strength, while not quite making him an actual liability, lags behind the other characters significantly. Without putting in a fair amount of grinding, Hahn is virtually useless. If he is leveled properly, by the time he starts getting really useful techniques and skills, he leaves your party, only returning at the very end of the game (when there are better options for a fifth party member). He can't wear heavy armor, and can only use knives, seriously stunting his potential.
