Here's a recent video interview of Reiko Kodama from the Sega Ultimate Mega Drive/Genesis Collection. More will follow. Enjoy.

I've added interviews of other Phantasy Star series collaborators for those who haven't viewed them on Sega Mega Drive Collection releases from past and present.

Me likes.

I have the same collection, and saw the interviews. Interesting how they remember. The PS3 guy is creepy as hell, though...

[augmentedfourth]

Awesome! I don't have the Collection (though I think my friend does), so this was my first time seeing this interview. Thanks for sharing!

More interviews added.

Just noticed...

Peaguy, you got the lady's name wrong. It's not Reiko. It's Rieko. A completely different name. It's like calling Joe a man named John. The kanji are different, except for the last one. "Ko".

I'm afraid that if you get caught by the naming police, they'd have a case, even if a small one against you... =P

Wait... Rieko wasn't involved in creation of PSII?

Wait... Rieko wasn't involved in creation of PSII?

She was somewhat, but she's mainly known for her work on PSI & IV.

YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG

[BenoitRen]

I already told PeaGuy about it a couple months back, but he has never typed Rieko Kodama's first name right.

Kodama wasn't that much more involved with PSI than PSII. She's credited with Executive Design for PSI, and just Design for PSII. It's for PSIV that she took on a lot more responsibility.

I swear I flushed the toilet! I swear!

I already know that, hence the PSIV theme tune.

In case people don't know who the PSII and PSIII guys are, the PSII guy was known as "Yoshibon", who was the Character Designer of the game. The PSIII guy was the producer called "Tsukapon". (You guys are probably already aware that staff didn't use their actual names back in the old days of Sega.)

Like Phoenix Rie is a normal Japanese name...

That was Rieko Kodama's nickname.

That was Rieko Kodama's nickname.

Maybe it's part of the security protocol.

[Wing-0]

Security from society that in those times considered videogames something akin to "diarrheic shit".

Would love one with Tokuhiko Uwabo (Bo)
