Phantasy Stars I, II and IV are being remade for the PlayStation 2. The North American release date has been set somewhere in the first quarter of 2005, and the product will be entitled "Phantasy Star Trilogy". PS I has already been released on it's own in Japan.

[Edit by Mizehrith on [TIME]1089008295[/TIME]]

why dont they just make a collection of 1,2,3 and 4? i'd have imagined they would all fit on a cd. they seem to be very bad at leaving phantasy star as a series of four.

PS3 Doesn't have much to do with the Core PS Series, it takes place in a totally diffrent world or worlds.

You take that back, gm2987. It doesn't take place in Algol, but it still is about the Parmanians. The ones who fled Parma when it exploded.
There's a possibility that PSIV will be released on the GBA, but that will depend on how well Phantasy Star Collection sells.

PS3 Doesn't have much to do with the Core PS Series, it takes place in a totally diffrent world or worlds.

Except it happens in one of the spaceships that fled Palma before it was destroyed, as it is explained during the game. It has as much connection with PS2 as PS4 has.
I would say more, PS3 came out before PS4, so, in order of priority, PS4 is more out of the main series than PS3.

PSIV seems more and more to me like the semi-obligatory "happily-ever-after" to the PS series, whereas the series for the most part was rather dark...
IMHO, they should have included the aftercredits ending (Rika/Lui)... >_<
*hates a happy ending* -_-;

I think the reason why psIV wasn't included is because the term "cash is king". PSIV is the most "popular" of the four and could easily be sold a single game on GBA.
And I won't jump on gm2987 for this "slip of words" I'm sure he realizes his mistake and correct is misdoings :p
Btw: It's been a while, but I'm finally back :)

i foudn the endings in ps2 and ps3 didnt make much sense. what exactly were all those dern earthlings for in ps2? i hope Rolf megided them all. what else has been sabotaged in Algol by our descendants? (thats something i gotta remember, theres a pretty big time difference between here and algol, probably because its several thousand light years away) and which one of the endings in ps3 actually happened in the next bit of the timeline? considering half of them fell into black holes, they probably ended up in each others parallel universes and killed their doppelgangers off, Dark Savior style. even ps4 went slightly wierd. didnt the elysdeon cause a big hole in the space/time continuum at the end of ps4?

i didnt like ps1 2 or 3... i think they are ok but 4 is the best. i played 3 for a long time. i didnt like it because i could never figure out the spells/techniques or whatever because they never worked. also it never gave you any hints on where to go. i spent hours just stumbling on the right places and losing hours by going to the wrong place. i played 1 and 2 for awhile but i played 4 first and it made 1 and 2 seem stupid... but thats my opinion. i was working on a ps4 sequel with rpgmaker like gm2987. i quit because mine had the same idea as his but wasnt entirely the same(by the look of the title) and also i suck at making graphics.
hey gm2987 if you see this i sent you a pm a few days ago :P
[Edit by chazz on [TIME]1089127940[/TIME]]

It would have costed too much with a cartridge like that.

i foudn the endings in ps2 and ps3 didnt make much sense. what exactly were all those dern earthlings for in ps2? i hope Rolf megided them all.

Well, maybe if you payed attention... %)

which one of the endings in ps3 actually happened in the next bit of the timeline?

We don't know, but there are theories...
The Exile, I have to ask. No offence, but it seems you were half asleep when you played these games. Have you got a bad memory or do you secretly dislike Phantasy Star?

I think you're being too harsh, Benoit.

While Benoit's really rather harsh, I'm acutally surprised the ending of PS2 didn't make sense to you, The Exile.
Here's a hint: The Earthlings were the bad guys in that game! ;)
