In PS2-4 the techinuqe names are much diffrent then you would expect, the names doesn't make any sense as far as I know, is there some secret behind what they mean? Or is it just some random thing done? Or something else?
We have the ovious that Gi and Na represent advanced techs of each other but for the core name, Tsu, Wat, Foi, what do those mean? and how they heck to you get Triblaster after of combining them, that name makes sense why doesn't the others? Meh just thought I would ask if anyone knew XD

They are abbreviations of the japanese words phonetically translated, so of course they won't make any sense to one who doesn't speak japanese. Like Saner gave in the example, foi is the japanese abbreviated form of how we say fire in english. Gi and Na if I remember correctly are prefixes that denote bigger and biggest (in layman's terms) of the respective tech.

Gra is for Gravity, although it looks more like an electric shock to me :^P

Well, the effect of Gra is pretty obvious a gravity well, judging from the fact targets of the gra-family in PS4 are compressed on the spot.
What was more annoying to me than the odd names was the fact they suddenly chose to do a switch-around job on the PS3-techs. Gires in that game is obviously sar and now Tsu strikes groups of enemies with...did the manual really say beams of water?

We can chalk ps 3 up to bad translation of the techs also
Just like most of the important plot info left out in the English release.
Pisses me off, There's some good plot left out!

Gra is gravity, and that's what it says in the manual.
Zan sucks all of the air from an enemy, as it says in the manual.
All the names are translations from the original Japanese.

I always thought Zan, like, slashed the enemy with thin blades of air or something...
I got PSII and PSIV second-hand, with no manual !@#$ That's bugging me to hell.

Contrary to the official manual description Zan being an actual wind-attack, rather than a vacuum attack is also more realistic since the technique actually harms robots/androids. You'd say that a machine isn't really bothered by the sudden lack of oxygen in the area, since they don't need oxygen to begin with.

A vacuum attack could cause a structural collapse in a machine, when suddenly there is no air pressure on the inside...
