PS Gaiden manual scans

Postby Eleah » Sun Dec 06, 2009 9:46 pm

I don't know if someone has posted this before, but the other day I've found these scans:

http://www.dynamic-designs.us/PSGManual.shtml

The site's the one of the group which translated the game. The scans are quite interesting, I think that the PS 1 group shot at the Prologue wasn't used anywhere else but there...

Nice find!

Cute manual. Too bad the game didn't have the same care put into it.

PHANTASY STAR GAIDEN MANUAL

This Light Pendant will serve as proof of the two chosen warriors who will rescue this beautiful planet from that which feeds upon the darkness of people's hearts...

To be able to see the future, to see to even tomorrow morn... such an ability has been sought and coveted by people from days long past.. The legendary heroine Alisa, endowed with this power of prophecy, foretold the future of this Alesaland.

Forseeing a dire calamity, for the sake of Alesaland, Alisa seized this door to a moment frozen in time, and... Unable to plumb the depths of this riddle, the people forgot of Alisa's existence, and time heartlessly marched on. And now, the time for that door to be opened has come...

This is the peaceful village of Tedo. It is here, the home of this story's hero, Alec, that the youthful Minima finds a pendant. And Alec's father, Morg, disappears... When they bring this mysterious pendant to the chief of their village and Old Rob, they are told that it is the proof of the two chosen warriors. Could the key to Morg's disappearance lie with the pendant? The pair quickly head off on their journey to rescue Morg...

I see what you did there... =P

By the way... Does anyone know if there is a decent program for ripping images (in a format a Windows computer can understand) from PS2 DVDs? Because those and MANY other scans are included in a gallery for each game that the Phantasy Star Complete Collection has... And... I have it...

Included are:
PSI
PSII
PSIII
PSIV
PS Gaiden
PS Adventure
PSII Text Adventures

And all of them have their respective manuals included as well as promotional art (In PSIII's case, the gallery is huge), which is really great. I love the art of the guy who made the Japanese covers and promotional art for PSII and PSIV too. I don't remember the name, but he made really nice pieces of art.

I've checked it, and it looks quite the same, except that Rebecca's translation states the pages. It's here: http://home.att.net/~RCgamusic/psgmanl.txt

I didn't know the PS Complete Collection had scans! That's sweet! Too bad I can't be on any help there... so good luck!

all the "files" are packed into a single compressed PAK file on the CD.

so far i was only able to RIP 5 bitmaps from the PAK file successfully. (nice high res pics tho)
