PSIII Algo Missing Link Revealed at last?!

Postby OnnaWren » Wed Jun 23, 2004 3:17 pm

From the Internet Movie Database:
Trivia for
Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom (1991) (VG)
* The concept of generations was forced on the design team when they were well into designing the game. This explains why the Nial branch of the plot has almost no exclusive plot elements. It also forced the designers to take the game out of the Algol star system: originally the fleet of ships wandered between the planets of Motavia and Dezoris.
Although no credit for this titbit of info is given, would this satisfy some of the naysayers at last?
Like is or not, Phantasy Star III is a Phantasy Star game.

[Edit by OnnaWren on [TIME]1088003987[/TIME]]

I didn´t even need that bit of explanation. The wise men of New Mota have said enough for me.
But it feels good to be right, no? :^)

I wonder what PSIII would have been had things went the other way...

why did the concept of generations mean they couldn't put it in Algol? they could have given them unusually short lifespans, and the quest is to find out why.

I wonder what PSIII would have been had things went the other way...

probably a lot better. nothing to lead up to PSO.
i think ps3 just about counts as a phantasy star. especially because if they really did go near earth in some of the endings it explains my presence here, whcih is a vital element of Algol's history.
We already pointed out that PSIII has no bearing on PSO.
And why can't you refer to yourself as a human being, instead of constantly hiding behind the curtain of phantasy? You're scaring me.

Having the fleet wander between Motavia and Dezoris would have left other occurances like the tragedy at Nalya, though...

there were lots of spaceships. the spaceship that crashed near Nalya was a different one.
Benoit... you really don't like the idea of people being something more than insignificant worthless human NPCs, do you? or that Phantasy Star is more than idle entertainment?
i can't prove I'm Algolian. you don't know me offline and can't see me so i can't prove anything about myself, and you can't disprove it. so theres no use arguing about it.

As far as I am concerned, Phantasy Star is more than just idle entertainment; however, I let myself be defined by my phandom, instad of being a slave to it...

Benoit... you really don't like the idea of people being something more than insignificant worthless human NPCs, do you?

You take it so the wrong way.
Every human is an individual in his own way, with his own ambitions, interests, and the like. You don't need to pretend to be some sort of Phantasy Star character to be special.

special is just a euphemism for faulty, used by teachers trying to convince said faulty people not to top themselves. really important people know they're important because their stats are up there in writing, they dont have to hold some tiny, flickering illusion of self-worth all through the daily drudgery of their insignificant little lives.
besides, Hugh says i'm the same race as him, and i'm not gonna argue with Hugh when hes got a scalpel.

I always feel like.. Somebody's watching me... and I got no privacy! I always feel like.. I'm being watched for sure.. Is it my mind playing tricks on me?
Hehe excellent song by Rockwell. Fits this situation.. Is someone in the world of your persona watching you?

Not true, The Exile.
I doubt that we would find another person that's just like you.
Do you have an inferiority complex or something? If you do, you need help.

Because you feel that you're inferior as a human being, and need to relate to being an Algolian to feel good.

Oh man. %)
Let them do whatever they want. In the end they answer to themselves. I chose my screen name because I wanted something to do with Phantasy Star, but I knew that if I chose a character name, I would start to be recognized for that, and not me. You could call it a sort of typecasting, I suppose.

As far as I am concerned, Phantasy Star is more than just idle entertainment
I agree. Phantasy Star means something to me. It seems to be more then a video game, somehow. If it didn't stand out beyond all other games, I wouldn't be here, I gaurantee. This is exactly the case that proves that video games aren't just entertainment mediums, they're creative mediums. Take that, naysayers!
