I agree that Shining Force's are better but SitD isn't boring, imo.
But how it is a rip-off?

Because the gameplay is identical to the first PS game. Its sequel was better though.

I find SitD to be more entertaining than PS1. It's obviously a dungeon-crawler since that's the only gameplay in the game aside from shopping in town or talking to the oddly animated guys at the castle. (Hell, they were all oddly animated...)
