It's odd with the remakes of PS II and IV..

The more I think about it, the more I feel I'd miss the grid...
My gut feeling, though, is that the grid will be gone. Maybe they should compromise and save the grid for certain areas or certain bosses...? Eh?

I would like some more boss battles. Some real creative ones, like the PSIII Dark Force battle (having to attack different parts of his body before his head). However, the grid should not be compromised...it's a part of Phantasy Star history.

So you think that all the battles should contain the grid? That's understandable... but do you honestly feel that 3D-Ages will actually do that? Not very flashy for todays standards. I dunno, I think the chance that they'll opt for backgrounds is very good.

they can't put new boss battles in. then the plot will be different and it wont be PS2.

They could add new strategy to the boss battles...
The grid should stay. As we have said, it represents the technological world. I would love to have the grid in every battle. Honestly, I don't 3d Ages will do that. They don't seem interested in keeping Phantasy Star's history in mind, or in appeasing us Phans.

Actually, bosses are the easiest way to add a little stress to a point in the game. They don't have to be actual characters, just something to challenge you at a dungeon's end. Like have to fight some big group of tougher biomonsters that are beating at the door into where Tiem is being held (they smell the human). It doesn't change the story, but shows how close Tiem came to dying if not for the heroes.
As to boss strategies, that would also be good. Except for DF, the other 2 bosses only attacked. Normal enemies had more variety.
ALL HAIL THE GRID!!! THE GRID IS ALL!! THE GRID IS HOLY!
(or something like that.... :D )

That grid was freaking awesome to. It rivals those stupid flat backgrounds of early ff's where all the characters did was move 2 steps and then suddenly the enemy got damage.
Oh I forgot.. Occasionally the sword move and halfway across the screen damage, or they lifted hands and red shot out and halfway across the screen damage. Whipee
PS 2 has a 3d effect with the grid. You can tell when someone attacked them they moved right up to the monster. It was so cool
The grid OWNZ

We all agree that the grid deserves to stay. Now...sharpen your weapons, because 100 Meseta and a pair of Royal Boots say that they do away with it.

well they might save the Grid for the bosses.
but I'm more concerned about the artwork and character designs.
I never liked that PSO artist. why can't they draw classic PS2/PS4- character design style?
now that's better anime style.
