The ending picture I put looks all blured. At first it covered the whole screen and was cut off but when I lower the magnification, it's not very clear. Do I have to save it under a certain size?

What I do with pictures in rpgmaker is always make my pictures by editing the original ones.

If I want to do a new gameover picture I edit the original one into a new one.

Just make sure you don´t change the original picture configuration.

if a remember well rpg2000 only support png images and 256 color.

When I was learning to use rpgmaker I used to get other already made games and edit them to discover how they did the things I wanted to copy.

Odd... Is there a color loss? And the screen itself is a set size, having a picture that is larger than it may not e a good idea.

A solution I have in mind is to import is as a Panorama and have it set at 320x240 pixels... Either resize it or trim whatever is excess. For the ending part, perhaps make a new map and leave it totally blank (pink in this case, that is what that little pink square you see in the RTP's chipset on the lower layer is for), then set the map's panorama as the ending picture you have.

rodrigo's idea isn't bad either, so doing whatever works is my advice to you.

I think I got it right this time. It took a pretty long while for me to get the pictures to look good. It appears that RPG Maker 2000 is rebeling or something. The font has decreased in size. Is there anyway to make it back to normal? It's barely readable now and I don't know why it has changed sizes...

Okay, nevermind I fixed my font problem. I needed to get some patch.

As for the images, RPG Maker 2000 can use .png, .bmp and .xyz images. Png seems to be the best choice as there can sometimes be a color loss with the other two formats.

I think you use .xyz images only if you want to protect your work from editing and I think they are like a coulple of kbytes smaller.

I remember using a very good editing program for png images that was especial for rpgmaker . But I don't remember its name. I remember I got it in dom miguel site. But I don't know if it exists anymore...

I don't know what kind of graphics you are going to use but in raja and chaz adventure I collected a good amount of images from ps and they are ready to use in rpgmaker 2000. If it helps please use them.

Ah, excellent. In that case, since I don't know where it can be found, I just uploaded the .zip I found a few years back.

Thank you, if I use any, I'll be sure to give credit. :D
One thing I was wondering, in Raja Adventure, how did you make the allies to walk behind the main character? I would like to add the same classic PS touch to my fan games. :)

Ok Danny, that's called caterpillar script. It was available on many sites a while ago... but i googled for it and haven't found it. maybe you can find it on the internet archive project.
your other option is to checkout how we did it in raja's adventure. there are some events that are continuous, they allow the other characters to follow you around, and some events that have to take place when you transport, so your teammates will transport along with you as well.
have fun...
