Has anyone ever noticed...

How in PSII, you can pause the game and press the B button to keep playing? There's no sound, of course, and everything moves a lot slower.

In PSIV, it's implied that there's dirty magazines in an old man's house in Torinco:
Chaz:
Oh my...here are some books
whose content
I would hesitate to say aloud!
Quite fascinating...
Rika:
Chaz!

PSII's slow-motion mode is mentioned on the PSII Hints page at PS Cave. I cleaned that page up yesterday. :)

You can do some nifty things with that slow down thing.

I've not tried it in ages, but as far as I remember, if you pause the game then carry on playing slow motion style, when you unpause the game the music will be the same pre pause.

For example, get in a random battle. Pause the game, then kill the bio-monsters whilst holding B.

After the fight, unpause the game and you can walk around the map with Rise and Fall still playing. :)

I also think you can mash either C or A while its paused to do a sort of frame by frame kind of thing. Also works on other sega games like Sonic the Hedgehog :P

Yes I believe pressing C while it's paused lets it go frame by frame. It's really interesting to watch the battle animations that way. You get a feel for what's going on behind the scenes.

C button, B button, it's one of those two. Still, I thought I'd bring it up. :p

Nah, well almost!

You can totally evade random encounters by spamming 'A' whilst walking around frequently bringing up the "There's nothing interesting here" or whatever it says. I used this without shame during the solo run to get to Darkforce with all my hp and tp intact.
