Which PSU class is the best?

Postby Black Waltz 0 » Mon Oct 29, 2007 8:48 am

Well, each and every class has its benefits and cons, so maybe I should say which class do you prefer the most?

Do you think classes should be assigned depending on a character's race, e.g; Fortefighter for a beast, wartecher for a human, fortegunner for a CAST or Fortecher for a newman? Or do you think it's the best or more fun breaking the barriers of stat restriction and running about with a hunter newman or a force CAST?

Just thought I'd gather some opinions here. :)

I'm somewhat on the fence as far as the race/class issue is concerned.

On the one hand, I hate what ST has done to numans, and I fully endorse shunning the Force classes with them and leaning towards claw using classes. I mean, honestly, why did they even put claws in the game if they didn't want Newmans to use them?

But, on the other hand, each class is so horrifically shunted in any area that it's not SUPPOSED to be awesome at that it's absurd, and you really can't be effective without playing as one of their preapproved acceptible classes.

And god help you if you picked male or female without reading the friggin stat bibles. Egads, ST. Egads.

Well, yeah, otherwise they wouldn't be so prone to all of those "boob potion" adventures on the internets! :D

Hmmmmm, intresting Topic. Personally, I don't like how ST implicated Stat bonuses for some combonations. Such as Beast getting extra stat boosts for being a Fortefighter. Kind of silly in my opinion.

But yeah, each combonation has it's benefits. I find being a Cast FF has lots of perks:

-Casts ATA makes up for the lower end ATA of FF due to extreme ATP.
-Casts have second highest ATP next to Beast, as well as HP, and both are heightened on a FF
-Casts have highest DFP in the game, and so does FF, making it the largest combonation.
-Low Cast and FF EVP leads to less PA cancelations.

MST on the other hand is what destroys me. Fighting things like Vanda Derma is painful, due to their overuse of strong Fire and Ground techs. There are many other cases like this where it is an issue. Like fighting Kagajibari, who will use a tech based on what element you use.

So in other words, constantly switching between different armors with high elements is probably the best way to utilize a Cast FF. And I enjoy it.

I kicked ass as Wartecher. Wartecher is the TRUE personification of a hunewearl!

Funny, I always thought a HUnewearl was the true personification of a HUnewearl.

Fighgunner > Everything, especially in AoI. Kick-ass melee, the accuracy that comes of being a RA hybrid, traps, awesome guns, what more do you need? Melee resistant? Bust out the crossbows or twin handguns. Range resistant? Well, freaking duh. Melee and ranged resistant? Crossbows again, mmm, L21+ Yak Megiga with lovely SE3 virus, or just drop a Burn G. :D

Edit: Oh, yeah, something to make you get all woobly inside, Khyron. They're going to adjust Wartecher again soon, this time to give it S-rank knuckles and... Twin Claws. Numan fanboys, you can finally STFU.
