PSU Active List

Postby Guest » Thu Sep 06, 2007 3:44 pm

Well Im active at the moment. Preparations for the imminent expansion are on the way and techs are being leveled to 30 ready for AOI.

Halikus Newman Fortetecher
Nel Human Fortegunner/Protranser

I usually hang out on Uni 7 but I have been known to stray to Uni 2.

Current hot spot is Grove of fanatics as I am hunting a Rikoteri after playing with a friends for a few days nothing else cuts the mustard.

Yeah I noticed your absence on the official boards. Figured you must have quit.

I know how you feel though, Ps deserves better. Im only still online sporadically at best, mainly to chat to long term buddies iv kept in touch with since BB came out.

Actually my absence was do to getting banned, but honestly I really didn't care I had absolutely no reason to be besides to cause trouble, and I'm surprised that there wasn't a party thrown the moment I was banned... I pissed off a loooot of people on that site XD

Hell I still hung around their until around January I think and now I don't even remember what exactly got me banned. XD

I will never touch PSU with a barge pole... unless Benoit convinces me otherwise.

PSU is actually quite fun, its just theres been next to no weapons released and whats out is just a tad rare. Think DC ver1 drop rates.

In nigh on 900hours played since launch I have found 2 items that were worth anything decent. One 9* Armour thats non shop buyable which I sold for 40million Mes because it was the best armour in the game at the time. The other being an S-rank Wand which i was really stoked about seeing as it was my hunt at the time and the fact it dropped from the first run and first monster that could have dropped it. Oh and I was playing with randoms with Rares on random and i had just literally walked into their game. So huge amounts of luck there just for the horrible synth system to steal my weapon and give me a monomate for my trouble on a 75%.

I didn't play PSU for a few weeks after that.

Im interested however in the combat overhaul for the expansion. I might actually enjoy playing hunter classes which i cant stand at the moment due to the button mashing. PSO had more depth...

Its really the online costs thats stopping me from continuing to play this game. I accidentally created a character over my main which stopped me from playing online due to sulking and only having a week left before I had to renew my guardians license.
Though if they ever get around to pulling up a private server I'd be there in a heartbeat. I lost alot of good mates on PSU due to the whole.. crap what the machines you synthed from called? PMs? I really can't remember I haven't played this game in 7 months...

I'm currently playing PSU online. Been playing for just over a month now. I don't have to worry about the costs because my fiance pays it for me. 8)

I have one beast, one numan and two casts. Anybody else who plays should drop me a line sometime, we could do a mission or two together.

I'm a regular player (well, for my free time) and a "SysOp" on the game's English player-run wiki.

If anyone recognises me though, it'd be more from my notoriety on the official boards as an idiot-hating stat-whore. 8)

I play on and off myself... though I have to check, I think my membership expired last week.

Unfortunately I picked the worst species and type to be [according to almost everyone on there] by choosing a newman (couldn't they just stick with numan?) and making it primarily force. The problem I've constantly had is that everyone around gets as high as they can go and only play the higher rank missions, so I'm out of luck until I catch up... meaning I have to go it alone most of the time. The people I often play with as friends don't come on as often. Perhaps with a few players from this board around, I can get back into it.

You kidding? Everybody needs a force around to buff them up, heal, and blast enemies with their wicked spells. Newmans are the best forces there are, I mean, where technics are concerned they are walking powerhouses.

Maybe I'm just a little biased because my PSU gaming partner's main character is a female newman force, and she usually wipes out all the monsters before my hunter can get to them...

As I stated, the reasoning behind it being the worst is that I have to go solo most of the time. This makes levelling up quite difficult, especially when I just achieve a higher ranking... plus gaining other types of skills [being a force only lets me use B rank wands/staves] to get better stats becomes impossible... like becoming a hunter with crappy weapon stats, and levelling that skill a few times to gain a new skill... well you know what I mean.

I think the only rare I ever found was a flourescent bulb... kinda humorous, but I didn't want to dare try to synth it since it's only like... 55% success.

and I confirmed, my license expired... but I'll probably wait. I'm sure I'll find some fellow players here eventually.

...and no offense BW, but that avatar is disturbing. XD

Er... why not move up to ForteTecher? With Her Secret Mission out, there's really no excuse for staying a basic job FO except for perhaps personal preference. As a ForteTecher, Newmans really shine above and beyond any other class. Play the online storymode up until the most recent chapter. This will let you get Tonnio's partner card. Bring him and one other NPC (usually Leo or Laia, but Hyuga can work as well) and you can solo just about any area on any difficulty you can access. Tonnio is a TANK and nano-blasts quite often. Stay back and heal them, and toss out the ocassional offensive tech.

Now if you want a more difficult class for your Newman, try Gun/Wartecher, Protranser, or FiGunner.

The problem with bumping up to fortetecher is that I don't meet the prerequisites. Being a newman, my stats are crap, I'm not even lv 30 (I don't think, haven't played in a month or two) and only recently tried upgrading hunter and ranger levels. And being alone with high levels but crappy stats means doing C rank stuff all over again, and that means my normal exp barely budges, and the mission points are low at that level. It's a conundrum of time, frustration, and people bailing and being much higher than myself. :?
