NEW 2 page interview!! at the core!! whoa!!!!!!

No.. you can't take 4 more people and meet 4 originally because the programming sets it up that way.
All PSU is is a city with servers set up allowing up to 100 people one each. 100 people will be in the same planet world is what you don't understand.
You're going to be on Diits and see hundreds of other people.
It is still a MMORPG, but with a limit of players.
RO isn't a example of modern MMORPG's for crying out loud. One game to judge the many other awesome Korean ones?
Sega is doing something right, if RF online is as popular as it is. PSO meets Mecha. The cyborg class when high enough, gets a mecha partner. The magic class gets a comparable skill or minion. RF online is very unhackable..

Yeah, the programming is set up that way. That's what keeps PSO from being a MMORPG. Way to finally catch on Khyron. PSU is no different. 100 people will be on the same "planet world" or however you put it... in the lobby/town. That's it. That's as far as your large number of people go. You then create a group just like you did in PSO and you're in your own little world away from everyone else. The areas are RANDOMLY GENERATED. And when you're in your little party, you CANNOT MEET ANY OTHER GROUPS despite being in the "same world".
Do you understand how this works yet? You will not run into hundreds of other players as you walk across the green grasses of the first area of PSU. It is not a *****ing MMORPG. MMORPGs do not have you slaughtering legions of monsters in mere moments. When you are done with a room in a game like PSO or PSU, the monsters are gone permanently. MMORPGs have them respawn endlessly because there are other players around.
Jesus Christ, this is not difficult.
Oh, and I just gave Priston Tale a shot. As expected, you are full of shit. It's another MMORPG like Ragnarok Online, where you click on a target with your mouse and you pretty much have the game fight for you. You can "run away" if you play something like an archer, but then go right back to firing your arrows from a distance by simply holding down the mouse button. It is no more action based than any other MMORPG. I can go play Final Fantasy XI and play a ranger, run away from a monster and shoot my arrows from a distance, but it's still the same shitty MMORPG auto-combat.
Edit: And furthermore, let me spell it out in simpler terms. If PSU was a MMORPG like World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy XI, Ultima Online, Anarchy Online, Ragnarok Online, Eve Online, Priston Tale, Dark Age of Camelot, City of Heroes, and any other shitty MMORPG that I played at some point that I might have missed, I would not be interested in it at all.
PSU's online component is nothing more than a heavily upgraded and slightly adjusted PSO.
[Edit by Parn on [TIME]1126808626[/TIME]]

its like PSO. 100 people can be in a lobby, but when they go to one of the planets, only 16 can go to the same dimension of that planet.
it's like ffxi for you to better understand. people in Ragnarok can't meet people in Phoenix.
but PSU is like PSO where anyone can meet anyone who plays online if they choose the right lobby/server.
but when they warp to the solar system's planets, each group of players experience a independant dimension of it.
you cant have 100 people in the same solar system. only in the lobby. argh its tough explaining it sometimes.
but its so simple
[Edit by Saner2 on [TIME]1126824646[/TIME]]

Priston tale is more action oriented than Ragnarok and more charming. Try a ATA class with the stun.. You have free reign to attack any way possible. Even skills. Monsters with unique attack patterns..
VICIOUS MONSTERS as well! Ones that attack, they don't stand around doing nothing.
It's better than Ragnarok and proves why most Korean MMORPG's rock.
Diablo 2 is a MMORPG and the world is unique for everyone who makes it. There can only be up to 16 people in each world you make. Maps change all the time.
If Diablo 2 is a MMORPG, PSU is plain and simple.
There won't be just 16 people on the planet, you will see more, trust me on that. This isn't PSO so it won't be party restricted like PSO. The interview says as much.
You fail to see it's a MMORPG online.

You're going to find yourself extremely disappointed when you find out that there's going to be 6 in a team in PSU.

Let's clear the air.
MMORPG means: Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game.
An MMORPG is not defined by its battle system, or its character customization, though similar systems have been adopted by many MMO's, which is why they are recognized as the norm. A MMO is defined by massively multiplayer support, which PSU simply doesn't have. 4 characters in a dungeon is NOT massively multiplayer, no matter if the lobby is large or not.

PSU sounds like Guild Wars in a way... question is, are they going to follow GWs pricing model (buy the game, play online for free).

Diablo 2 is a MMORPG and it can have up to 8 chars in a game.
Unique individual worlds.
PSU has the ability for hundreds to interact, talk and play lobby soccer. That is the core of a MMORPG. Ability to mingle with others. 4 members to a party is a programmed system.
Most MMORPG function is talking to begin with.
Not the endless monster killing.
Maplestory is a MMORPG and it has channels, which are unique worlds with limits. Each world is different. It's a MMORPG.

Show me where Diablo 2 is advertised as a MMORPG. Same goes for Phantasy Star Online. Likewise Phantasy Star Universe.

call it a MMORPG if you like. but dont expect the worlds to be populated like one. at best the most people you'll meet is only in the lobby, which is Guardians Colony, that's it.
that's the only location in the solar system 100s to 1000s of players can meet and talk and trade.
you think a PS2 game with this good graphics can handle 100s of players in REALTIME COMBAT and huge worlds at the sametime! no, they have to split up the masses even more so than a mmorpg does, but that is not a bad thing.
one reason why most mmorpgs have that lame auto-attack system is lessen the lag. that's how bad the lag is handling so many players at once. you gotta balance players, size of the world, and all the action that is going on.
