They're identical to her boots in the original, dude... And they're really not very high at all. I'd go so far as to say that they're quite modest, as far as being boot heels.
And seriously
Heels on a pair of boots hardly makes someone a sex symbol. That's like freaking out because your pastor said, "Hell" in a sermon.
Now, if she were wearing a pair of hot-pants instead of those cloth leggings, THEN I could see this argument being justified, but quite frankly, you'd have to be Amish to identify her wardrobe as being over the edge.

I know her boots from the original and the boots of the remake, and those of the remake are much taller.
She's not the strong woman of the original, as stated on the previous page. Just eye candy.

The bottom line is this:
She's still the main character.
She's still the instigator of the whole adventure.
She's still the leader of the party.
I'd say her actions speak louder than her wardrobe.

I'm gonna agree with PhanGarrett on this one. If they wanted to make her a sex symbol then they defenitley could've. To name some things; 1:her breasts are modest. That is defenitely not what you see in a sex symbol if...2:Her costume is also not revealing. It is, as PhanGarrett said, conservative. Yes, Alis does have some curves in the remake, but this is a thing that most women have...defenitely not out of the ordinary. The Futabasha Adventure Book ( http://www.camineet.net/psimages/futabasha) features a much more sexy Alis...and she has a much more revealing costume. If anything, that is a more of an attempt at making Alis a sex symbol (even though the book is out of print).
I'd say that if the interior stays the same, a makeover is alright with me. Providing that they don't make her into an object, as media so tries to make woman these days.
If they change her personality, however, that could be a dangerous mistake...they may lose fans over it...

As mentioned multiple times in this thread, her personality has been changed. She's no more the strong female lead character everyone loved.
And I still have my point. Those heels are way too tall.

Now, I do have a problem with them changing her personality! I want the strong willed admirable Alis!

It's not as if though she really did ahve a strong personality in the original though... More like 'adding' than 'changing' really.

In the original, she was strong and determined.
In the remake, she's your typical wussy female character.
Added personality? I think not.

I don't know for the personality, but the one in phantasy star master system suited her really well, maybe it was a lake of space but the fact that she didn't talk too much made her like a strong and mature woman who could handle a fight with Dark force.
I'll wait until the game is released in a language I fully understand (even thought I don't write it properly hahaha).
So far, from what I read and what I've seen, I expect to be diseapointed by this remake but who knows maybe will love I it?
I was thinking that I like the new design but I prefer best the old one: the one below.(in phantasy star "IV")
Image Image Image
This following picture is nice too but doesn't show much
Image

Yes, it would have been nice if they made Alis look much like she does in PS4. She looked a bit different but we still knew it's her.

[Edit by Siren on [TIME]1079015465[/TIME]]

Yeah, the personality hurts. She's alwfully cheerful and ditzy for someone who's lost her brother and is on a journey to honour his dying request........ (Odin/Tyrone is also kinda beefcake-comedic in some of his lines) But the game in general is a lot more light-hearted and less dismal ("family" rated). There are bits of humour added to even some of the serious story parts. (You'll note in the screen shots posted earlier on this thread that Nero is VERY clean for someone who's been beaten to death. Even the original had blood.)
There is hope though, if they do port it over. It's not like all translations of games have been exact (In the english Albert Odyssey there were "yo' momma" jokes). This is one instance where a lazier translation might just keep the dialogue simpler and, in doing so, eliminate alot of the "cutsie-ness".
