The other "dimension" is little more than a lot of bright lights and a walkway, forming the prison of the profound darkness. There is a door to this dimension, and Algo sits on top of it, keeping it closed. But due to the way the planets align every thousand years, a crackforms in the door. The door is too small to let the PD out, so she..er..it creates an extension of itself, Darkforce, to go out and try to make the crack bigger. Parma EXPLODERS!! Making the crack big enough to let the PD out, so all it has to do is wait a thousand years for the crack to open again, ala PSIV. The crack happens to be right below Molcum on Motavia. <p>

I noticed something that both Laconian and I missed, in our effort to prove that the Nei Sword, Alis' Sword and Elsydeon were the same.<p>It's my belief that Rolf and friends died in the battle on Noah. If the Nei Sword is Elsydeon, than did Lutz or someone else claim it and bring it back? I doubt it.<p>Than, when Benoit mentions that Alys never laid hands on the Elsydeon, even though she appears in the sequence, that also gives evidence that they are different. Nei also never lays hand on the Elsydeon, yet she appears as well. This suggests that: <p>A) The Sacred Sword Cave is where the Protectors' souls go after they die (like Benoit suggests)<p>B)The Elsydeon is where the Protectors' souls go after they die (like Khyron suggests)<p>So, it seems that the Nei Sword <b>is</b> different from the Elsydeon.

Definetly... anyways, we should all know about the whole crack thingy so why bother telling everyone what they know (No offense) when we need to get back on topic . Now, Dark Force is the biggest part of DF that can be realeased, that does not suggest that it is connected to its life force. That means it won't neccasarily wither away just because PD is destroyed. Also, Dark Force wasn't neccasary destroyed when it was "killed". It may have played dead (Heehee DF playing dead XD) each time it was "killed" each time in PhS IV. I mean, look at how much it evolved before each attack (Quote from Wren at Soldiers Temple: Could Dark Force Evolve?). DF may have discovered how to be "reborn" without the PD. Perhaps at the end of the attacks in PhS IV it does a big show of it "dying" and then goes into a sort of regentration-like hibernation and heals itself; then comes back after a bit.<p> I know that's alot of speculating, but just think about it.

Dark Force was described by Le Roof - who should know better than anyone what he's talking about - as being "the most intense part of the Profound Darkness' hate filled spirit". The operative word is part. Dark Force is not a seperate entity - although it's entirely possible he could become one. <p>As for the weaponry... There is nothing at all in the games to indicate that any two weapons are the same, although it is strongly hinted that Alis' sword becomes Elsydeon (her statue holds it and her spirit passes it on). Whether that's the Neisword (or the other Neisword) is pure conjecture. I personally wouldn't expect a sword to have two names, though.<p>I am dead against Elsydeon being a construct of the Great Light. It's unrealistic for the sword to have survived and been kept safe for so long, unreasonable for Dark Force not to have made an attempt at it and a major cliche to boot. I prefer the Protectors to have engineered their own victory rather than be blessed with godly weapons Greek myth style.<p> - Joel Fagin

Yes yes, the most intense part, I know. Still, how could it send a part of it out with it still being connected through seperate dimensions? Not likely, the part, most likely, is realeased into algol for PDs purposes. Besides, who said PD is DFs life support? DF CAN survive without PD because their is no proof that he can't. again, just cause he's a part of PD it doesn't mean it will die when PD is dead. DF is a part, but he is a part of it, not PD itself, not dependent off it. Thus, it can live. Assuming that SEGA/Sonic Team will not disagree

Another argument against the Alis' sword being Elsydeon is that, in PS1, it doesn´t really matter whether Alis gets her hands on the Laconian Sword or not. You can defeat Lassic and Dark Force and beat the game without even stepping your feet on the Abandoned Island.<p>So Alis ought never had her hands on that sword to begin with, and yet her spirit is guarding Elsydeon. So being within the sword doesn´t necessarily mean they wielded/was in the presence of Elsydeon. It also puts the Nei Sword/Elsydeon theory in check again.<p>I am not all for personal gaming experiences used to model theories - like that damned Time Loop Theory -, but that´s an argument anyway.

When you create a sequel for a game, you have to assume the first one went a certain way so that you know where you stand with the second. Rolf's dream had Alis fighting Dark Force alone, didn't it? As did the images from Elsydeon, yet I usually complete the game with just Noah and Myau left alive. They made an assumption on how the first game went. They assumed you won, that Alis fought Dark Force alone at least for a time, and they almost certainly assumed that everyone was kitted out in laconia for the battles against Lassic and Dark Force.<p> - Joel Fagin
