Theoretically IQ tests can only go to 150. That is with a plus or minus 5 variance. Official IQ tests never go above that. <p>The made up ones that do are just that, Made up. Even Mensa is made up. PSychological sanctioned IQ tests will max out at 150. If you earn a 150 it is either 145 or 155.<p>these are the same tests used to determine Mental retardation. A score of 70 is either 65 or 75. There is that variance so you look at adaptive functioning.<p>So the moral is: Iq tests that give you a score higher than 150 are just that, made up scores. Legitimate IQ tests stop at 150 outside sources like Mensa.<p>Don't get me started on Mensa..<p>P.S. tests and measurements graduate level and Experimental Psych graduate are excellent classes to understand tests, weights and measurements ^^<p>P.S. To those who score 200+ good job! But just remember, There is always someone smarter than you who gets a lower score because THEY DON"T APPLY THEMSELVES. Kinda like me!

Most IQ tests I have taken are planned for the average literate white people grown under the occidental culture. If you are someone with no reading habit (and therefore, low vocabulary), little geography knowledge, or no math theory, will get a low score and be labeled as retarded or something. It tests you culture more than your proper intelligence - but then, what is intelligence?<p>The logic based tests are also flawed. You have to see patterns in shapes, numbers and words, but then, most times there is no single pattern to be found in a single set of pictures/words/numbers, and no correct answer - still, if you choose the option the test makers think is not right, you are stupid.<p>To quote my mom: "Psychologists are a bunch of pedant jerks."<p>She is a psychologist. :^P

You are referencing to the first ever test used during ww1 which had unfair questions because the majority of american citizens didn't have the knowledge it tested for. Knowledge like butter products and high class stuff. At that time people got concerned that our country was raising idiots. This was around the time of Eugenics and the perfect NATURAL US BABY contests went on. It was changed with a better test eventually. And now I think it's Kruskal-Wallis? is one of the best tests.<p>I agree though that sometimes they are unfair, But with the 5 point variance, if you get a 95, you've really got 100 or 90! So you get some cheering up ^^<p>P.S.S. No offense hubbs, I'm still upset that one time you called all my computer knowledge and programming USELESS because I didn't take video game design courses and I wouldn't know anything that could help you.
