Then again, maybe I'm misinterpreting my recollection, and it simply meant 'most similar', possibly in motivation.

You're right, but it doesn't mean that it's about a love relationship. If you consider this, I prefer when, in the game, Amy wants a nickname to symbolize the closeness between them.

I don't see Rudo ever getting together with anyone, just based on his loss. I can sort of see Kain and Nei, but I still say that Rolf+Amy is the best couple. Maybe Hugh and Anna?

Agreed with Gips, Rudo is Frank Castle, I don't think he'd have interest in anyone. To love others first you must love yourself, and Rudo has a particularly strong deathwish... now that if you want to produce "PS2, The Soap Opera".....<p>Rudo<br>IMHO, Rudo would rather attract Amy as, being a lifesaver at heart, she wouldn't be able to stand for long seeing Rudo throwing himself at the clutches of death time after time...and fail. I think she'd try to "rehabilitate him", falling for him on the way.<p>Yes, I know Amy must have seen a lot of suicides on her Female Jesus' journey, and cases like Rudo she must have seen by the dozen, but then... HECK! It's Rudo! Give the He-Man some credit. :p<p>Hugh<br>Hugh is, simply put, married to his job, so the only prospect I'd see for him would be either a co-worker (by co-worked I mean a fellow biologist he worked with, not a doctor), or a 180º from him who taught him to loosen up. And as the group lacks such second biologist I think the prospect COULD be Shir, who could actually teach him the meaning of life if she sets herself on it, but circumstances as they are, it's not likely.<p>The prospects of a Hugh+Amy is discarded as they both pursue different ends: Hugh's interest is the bio monsters, while Amy's is saving lives.<p>Cain<br>I don't know where the Cain+Nei came from myself, and also ignore whether the source is legitimate (ie Sega) nor I know enough about good ol' Joshua's personality profile so I ignore such claims legitimacy, but IMHO, being a relaxed, simple guy who knows how to have fun, he is the first Shir would warm up to (as friends that is). However, our female Jesus aka Amy may also try to help him with the self-esteem issues a failed engineer is SURE to have, and once having gotten to his soft side he may eventually fall for her, but I don't think he is what Amy looks for in a man.<p>....hmm, so far a love triangle already, not bad...<p>Rolf<br>Being the protagonist, Rolf's nature is prone to flexibility in order to appeal different audiences. Personally I don't think a Rolf+Nei would have been possible as she was more of her little sister. He is the protective type, but that doesn't mean he'll involve himself sentimentally with his wards (this is not the Batman movies).
