sorry benoit, but i must disagree somewhat. i believe gamecube has potential, but they have dissapointed. they released with pikmin, waverace, luigi's mansion, and something else...but the other thing, me and my freinds were lookin through my old nintendo powers (ya, i now think of them as waste of money, but oh well, i got em now). anways, we game to the one advertising gamecube release. we found multiple promised games that were not released. many promises not kept. so although i always have been a nintendo loyalist, but the alure of the ps2 and xbox is promises made i believe. all 3 promised online play, nintendo delivered with pso, and only pso while the other 2 systems had their release with either online games already on the market or were currently being developed. that i believe is the biggest part, the online play. the new generation did come about, thats true, and the fact is, the key competetive point in this generation is the online play. gamecube obviously lost in this one.

The GameCube still has the highest quality ratio, though. Games get cancelled sometimes. C'est la vie.
Online play, eh? Well...
How long did it take Sony to get online play? Three, four years? What did people buy while the Dreamcast and XBox already had online play? The PS2.
Online play isn't as convincing for a purchase as you like to think. If it was, the Dreamcast would have won the battle a long time ago, since it had many games online, and the PS2 would take years to get it when it came out.
Then we have the XBox, which also boosted online play since pretty much the start, while the PS2 -still- didn't have it. What did people buy? The PS2.
Be thankful that the GameCube did get online play, even if limited. Nintendo didn't want it in the first place. But they were generous enough to release adapters for whoever wanted online play in their games.
And frankly, PSO is all I need online.

The more I look about, the more I realize that the US gaming community is made up of mostly 12-year-old, bandwagoning, grandstanding, trash-talking, spamming, cheating, hacking, pirating, retarded graphics tarts who don't give a flying fig about the illustrious history of the industry... or much of anything else, for that matter...

Unfortunately, those people have also been the result of todays genre ratio. The futures next line of next generation consoles will be an interesting one. Though, I'm sure we'll be waiting a while to see this one.
EDIT: Post 1400!! Why is this an acomplishment? I have no idea...
[Edit by Neo48 on [TIME]1093911681[/TIME]]

But it's not just the US- it's all of North America.

Whether they cheat or not, they are bringing a more imature feel to todays games. This annoys me.

if anyone doesn't know, u can still play US PSO online on private servers with the use of a CodeBreaker/Xploder or a BBA. the servers aren't that bad either and there is also a strick Legit server. u can also backup ur character to the Servers.
btw if anyone is looking for DC PSO v1&2 try going to ur Toys r Us, alot of them r clearing out games with a 50% off sale for most games encluding any DC stock that had been stored away.

You're referring to Schthack's server, right? (Try pronouncing that... :P)
You don't need a cheat device...just set the DNS Server boxes in your Internet Setup to the server's IP.
Free PSOv1/v2...pretty nice if you ask me...but isn't it illegal...?

well apart from the line fee we all pay for connection the EU never suffered from Hunters Licences with the DC. All I used to pay was 1p per minute flat. so a good nights gaming cost me no more than £3 or $5-6. Cool huh. *rushes off to loft to claim dusty DC*
