Would like to see a PSO hack (not just a link to a new server, but a level mods or enimy mods, Heck evenclass type mods{new classes})X_ulken wrote:Still pso fan all the way baby.

There were/are a lot more gamers back in the genesis era/now as opposed to the early 80s early 90s. Because of this more ppl are exposed to the Phantasy Star games and naturally most people will tend to go and play a game that looks the best (which would be the latest or one of the later games in a particular series). For example, if the PS series would have continued (say up to Phantasy Star 11) the majority of people would more then likely vote for one of the much later games as being the greatest of all the PS games. The old school games are always going to be the ones that will be left behind. Of course there exceptions to this, but the general idea is there. Wait another 5-10 yrs later, the next generation of people in the year 2020 will think how bad Final Fantasy 7/Phantasy Star 4 looked like and why people from old school days could ever think that was the greatest of all FF/PS or any old school games. lol It's neverending. Hopefully this post makes sense haha

Makes perfect sense. I think the problem with modern RPG's is that they've been turned into slashers and glorified anime movies. I don't even consider most mmorpg's true RPG's. The last really good RPG I played was FF7. I really haven't liked anything since. Some of the best RPG's I've ever played weren't very visually appealing, but they sure were fun.
Things have certainly changed. People's idea of an RPG now is a bunch of people running around hacking/slashing each other. Mass confusion and mindless button mashing. To an old school RPG fan like myself it really is depressing. Thinking a PSV that played like the original 4 will ever be created is just a pipe dream. It wouldn't sell. People would rather play their first person shooters and "pwn" somebody... whatever that means.
