It's funny the way things go. At that time, there were two major PS oriented communities, the PSDB and Cyborg Central, although they were kinda blended together and had PSDB as a convergence point. Then a sucession of misunderstoods, provocations and unfortunate decisions led to a permanent split between the two (with mutual baninshments, to which only a few had survived, Wing-0 and I, for example).

So the CCDB and the whole community was slowly reduced to a hosting server and an IRC channel (the amount of active members wasn´t enough to hold an entire discussion board, so it was soon closed), and meanwhile the PSCave DB became an alternative place for those who grew weary of the PSDB old practices.

As the PSDB community got "old" and weary of itself, with not much to discuss besides political things and some personal issues that got public, and mostly nothing about Phantasy Star, the growing disagregation led to its end, while PSCave had a vigorous growing community phocused on PS and a clean moderation that wouldn´t take sides - so vigorous that even being closed for months, it is still an active and productive meeting point for phans around the world.

During the time I briefly used AOL messenger or whatever it was called, he got my screen name and started messaging me with insults and stuff, calling me a "wetback", "beaner" and other racial slurs...

It was quite funny, looking back. The poor slob desperately wanted attention... Attention I didn't give him.

I've had people shout "La Migra!!!" at me. Even a kid -_-. Wanted to drop-kick the little bastard. It's all fun n' games till someone says it in a mexican restaraunt. Never use a racial slur in a restaraunt run by the ethnicity you just insulted.

I am a full Mexican... Living in Mexico, so go figure.

Once, when I went to visit some relatives in Phoenix AZ, we were walking by the street with my aunt and cousin (my cousin being the second child born there). So we were walking and a blonde fat man yelled out: "WETBACKS INVADING MY AMERICA!!" My cousin was MAD, and since I was a kid I didn't understand the meaning. But when he explained it to me, I felt like crying.

I don't really like the term "Hispanic", since it implies being from Spain. I like the term "Mexican" or even "Taco Lover" when among friends and family, haha.

But yeah, racism sucks ass...

I dunno... It depends. Not all states are the same. Since I haven't gone to the US in a long time, I only know two states: Arizona and New Mexico. Can't say which is the worst. A friend of mine who went to work and study in Utah, told me that he encountered very kind and open people, but also very bad and rude people.

If you go to an area where the latinos have a bad rap, the other skin colors will assume that you are with them. Also, there are idiots everywhere and call names and such just because they only see someone of a different color once in a great wile and have a bad knowledge from new media and TV shows.

I live in San Antonio, Texas... a city with a primarily hispanic population. I probably look more Spanish than Mexican and don't really like it when people call me Mexican (especially since I've never been there). My last name is Flores, my mother maiden name is Guerrero, her mothers maiden name is Borrego, and my fathers mother's maiden name is Longoria. Long line. But all born in the U.S. So it really pisses me off when I go to the north side of town (where most of the white people are), and I have to hear that kind of crap. Last asshole who shouted, "Go back to mexico you stupid wetback, made the mistake of saying it while walking away from his car.

I look more like a white spaniard with dark hair, not the stereotypical mexican, dark skinned, dark hair, etc...

It's funny. A blue eyed, white and blonde, tall fat man was spouting racial crap in English at me and my father when we were at Costco... In my city, which is on MY side of the border. He was with his wife and probably a daughter. I wanted to go all berserk on him... But my dad told me to calm down, and we finished buying our stuff. He then pointed me to a large pickup pulling a rather large house thingy with Arkansas plates. My dad actually kicked the door of the car, sinking it a bit... I was all surprised and it got weirder when he told me "QUICK!! GET THE OTHER DOOR!!" The rest of the road back home we were all silent. He was still mad, and I was like "Holy crap, my dad's a maniac... cool..."
