Hey, glad to jump aboard!

Thought i'd better leave a few lines here to introduce myself :)

I've been a longtime looker/peeper/admirer of the site but hadn't ventured onto the forums as such.

It was when I became stuck on my Solo run of PS2 I decided to register and look for some help off the experts.

I don't have much time for the newer games, but i'm a diehard fan of the genesis titles (Especially PS2).

I'm an 18 year old retro gaming geek who started his gaming career with a 2nd hand genesis and a copy of Ps2 :)

Anyway haha! Before I give away my life story, i'll just say Hi! And try to offer something valuable to the forums along the way.

Glad to hear that there's still plenty of retro gamers out there. The new games can't compare in plot and story to the old ones even if the grapics are better. I still like the old ones more. Well, it's great to have you here!

Welcome to the board, Larkin! I think most of us are at least partly retro gamers.
Get Xenoblade Chronicles!

Graphics don't make the game, it is the storyline and character development. And hey.

No, that's what makes the story. And what character development exists in Phantasy Star I, II or III? If a game is not fun to play all the nice characters, graphics, and plot may be wasted.

Haha, wasn't trying to start a debate or anything!

I agree that graphics blatantly don't make a game. The only times Graphics sway my vote is when it comes to survival horror or FPS. (although alltime FPS is still the original DOOM which blows graphically!)

And yeah, I do also agree there isn't very much room for character development in the first three, but I don't think it holds the game back.

Anyhooo, hey all :)

I never said that these was bad games because of it.

I see you understand my point. PS I-III have little character development and they're still fun. So your assertion that "storyline and character development" "make the game", is false.

A better (the best?) example: Tetris.

Heh. I can't share the honor of Phantasy Star 2 being the first -game- I owned, but it was definitely the first RPG I played.

As for the Retro-Gaming subtopic going on here...
I can proudly say I'm the owner of a Master System, Master System II, Game Gear, two Mega Drives, a NES and SNES. Whoo-yay!
Strong or weak, all that matters to me is whether or not you're flammable.

I never played tetris. And are you saying that PS does not have a storyline?
