Spyware…

That stuff about reading HTML correctly...not entirely true. Way back, 5 or 6 years, or so, Netscape and IE were in a browser war (it's subsided, now). In an effort to gain more users, they each released browser specific syntax for HTML, that would ONLY read on their browser. The W3C frowned upon this, seeing that it would create problems for people simply wanting to view pages, created HTML version 3.0, as pretense for HTML 4.0 which was to be the web standard. It featured syntax that would work on all browsers.
So, what you're using that isn't reading properly is probably unofficial (and likely, widely used) syntax that will only work on one of the two browsers.
I read most of this information from an (X)HTML book, and the W3C.

Or you can forget about mozilla and just download google toolbar for IE.

Which only blocks popups, but doesn't fix the security issues.

I'M with HuBBs. Mozilla blocks pop ups....even the one I tell it to UNblock. >_< It's crap. That's why I never use it.

It's crap to you because you can't use it properly. Saying something is crap just because you can't do one thing in it is childish.
It's your loss. Don't whine when you get SPAM, infections, spyware and adware on your PC. With IE, you have chosen for that. :p

That stuff about reading HTML correctly...not entirely true. Way back, 5 or 6 years, or so, Netscape and IE were in a browser war (it's subsided, now).

Actually, it is true. Because IE is so popular, it imposes its own codes, which aren't standard compliant with the W3C. So people make web pages, see it works in IE, and then don't bother with other browsers. But unknowingly to them, they've used non-standards, aka IE-only codes in their website.
Mozilla is very strict with following standards, and if a website doesn't display correctly, often it's just because the website uses non-standards.
[Edit by Benoit on [TIME]1089555325[/TIME]]

Because of what I've read about Mozilla on Benoit's posts, I decided to change to a new browser, as IE give my family nothing but problems, such as spyware, pop-ups and the like on our computer. Overall, I'm happy with the change.

[Edit by ThePeaGuy on [TIME]1089556782[/TIME]]

I have a couple spyware removal programs, my favortie one is called System Mechanic 4. It does basically everything the system may need, defrag and cleaning, and such. I also run SpyBot once in awhile. If anybody wants System Mechaninc 4, just let me know I've got a link to download a 30 day trial, I would highly recommened using it. :p

I might need it, just in case my sister’s programs don’t work on my dad’s comp. They worked on our Win98 computer, which had about 90 viruses on it so I don’t see why not.

I installed google toolbar 5 months ago and I have been spyware and adware free since. Most adware and spyware are installed onto your pc thru cookies from numerous popups that appear.

I'm not sure about that. Anyway, the security bugs still remain. There are plenty of ways to hack IE.
Then there's the problem of infinite pop-ups. The Google toolbar can't handle those after a certain amount of time.
The fact remains that you need third-party software like Google toolbar to be more secure, which means IE still is inferior. Quite the proof.
And by using IE, you're still surfing slower, and promoting non-standards.
I'm curious to know why you dislike Mozilla, HuBBs.

I know how yo use it properly. >_<

Not at all. You never even saw the options, bookmarks, and all the rest.

ONE THING? I can't do ANYTHING with Mozilla. It has yet to load a page for me. And you say I'm stupid?

If you can't load a page in Mozilla, it's your own fault. Perhaps there's a proxy or something you use at home, or you block Mozilla yourself with your firewall.

How is it a loss, when Mozilla is the cause of all my problems? Huh? Huh?!

LOL! Mozilla the cause of your problems? Before I even showed you Mozilla, you had plenty of infections, spyware and adware, that f*cked up your computer and made you post porn links on the PSDB. Mozilla never caused you ANY problems. How can it cause problems when you can't even use it and make it display a page? ROFL! That's the funniest thing I heard today...

Did I forget to mention, yeah, it blocks pop ups, It ALSO blocks the ones that I SPECIFICALLY TELL IT TO UNBLOCK!!!

That's funny, given that in previous posts, you say it doesn't block pop-ups. Obviously you just bash Mozilla because others tell you to.
If you couldn't unblock certain pop-ups, then that's your own fault. You give wrong addresses, or give them in the wrong places. Considering your history in Internet goofs, that wouldn't surprise me.

By the way, if my reasons for hating Mozilla are groundless, then your reasons for hating XP are stupid. Tooltips....Oh my god! Windows 95 has tooltips too! Why use it?!

Because Windows 95 doesn't have tooltips on its minimize, maximize and close buttons. Windows XP gives out information about your computer even when you don't want to. It's uncompatible with most DOS games, hard to get games for Win95/Win98 to work, sucks at playing MIDI, especially in games. Not to mention that the system drains your resources much more than 95/98.
I really find it hilarious that you continue to use IE despite it being the source of your problems, and defending it while putting another browser down that you're too stupid to get it to work.
It's even more funny how you say you can't load anything in Mozilla, but still complain about pop-up blocking that you can't master. Tell me, if you can't load anything in Mozilla, how you can visit any site and thus see how the pop-up blocking works?
Mozilla is so good that M$ is stealing ideas from Mozilla! They're putting tabbed browsing and pop-up blocking in a Service Pack.
Security experts are also encouraging people to dump IE and use Mozilla/FireFox.
This is so funny. A computer n00b that tries to teach a lesson to a computer expert. LOL.

Benoit knows his browsers :D. All those points are true, well for Netscape at least, which is the same as Mozilla. I've never used FireFox though, whats the difference between FireFox and Mozilla?
Heh, it's funny because IE can't even read
properties at all, and people say its good. I believe my site is W3C compliant as well, althought I'm thinking of switching to XHTML soon.

Eheh Mine already is XHTML :D
FireFox is a stand-alone Browser very light and fast. You download and install only the features you want.
Formerly known as Phoenix and Firebird, it is the little brother of Mozilla...for now.

FireFox isn't at 1.0 yet, though. It still has enough little bugs scattered about, and isn't as stable. I know this from reading the MozillaZine forums.

If that's the case, why are the experts in PC stores always recommending using Firefox as a web browser? I keep hearing a lot of praise about Firefox from the tech guys when I go to PC World with my dad. Strange, considering that Firefox has bugs. :P
