Shining Force 1 remake

It seems that Sega is remaking the first Shining Force game for the GBA, and I have to say that it is looking good. :)
Here's a link to see the news coverage on the Shining Force remake:
http://www.shiningforcecentral.com/#220304

[Edit by ThePeaGuy on [TIME]1080224243[/TIME]]

Rumours say it is a card game...
I hope it isn't. SF is still one of the best RPG in the console world...

From what I read of the linked article, it isn't... There are cards in it which are used as a weapon by a new character, that's all.

It'll be nice to see a new version of such a classic game, as long as they don't try to add too many new, trendy aspects. I have been trying to get into SFII on emulation but just haven't been able to get into it. The same goes for SFIII. I *just* got it for Saturn and while it's definitely a Shining Force game, I hate the look of it. I know 3D was just coming into the picture back then and it seems they were trying to do too much with it in the game. One thing I liked about the SF games was the cool, cinematic look of the battle scenes... and now in SFIII, everything looks so pixelated and ugly. That's not the reason I stopped playing it though... I don't have any memory to save a game so I didn't want to get too far into it.
As far as Shining Games went, I always liked Shining in the Darkness and Shining the Holy Ark better. More my kind of RPG.

It is a remake. They updated the graphics, added more scenes, characters... What you would expect of a remake.

As stated by IGN
http://gameboy.ign.com/objects/592/592201.html?ui=cb_up_01
"Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon
Shining Force is a roleplaying battle game with vastle upgraded graphical detail, improved special effects, and a unique strategic battle system. Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon is based on the incredibly popular Shining Force franchise published on the Genesis/Mega Drive in 1992. The staff that worked on the original games supplied the scenario for this one as well. When compared to the Genesis originals, the battles are more tactical, there are new character animations, the gameplay is more balanced, and the developers added three new characters as well as new "Unique Card System" that adds a new tactical dimension to the battles."

[Edit by HuBBsDoctor on [TIME]1082401557[/TIME]]

That still makes it a remake, I think. All remakes are based on a game.
