A Change of Heart

Introduction

Billions of years ago, a spiritual entity splits into two separate beings, The Profound Darkness and the Great Light. The two began to fight and after many years, the Great light overcame the Profound Darkness and trapped it in another dimension. The Great Light created Algo to form a seal to the gate. These planets were inhabited by eight races. These were Palmans, Motavians, Dezorians, Cyborgs, Numans, Espers, Bio-monsters, and the Ancient Espers. None except for their cousins, the Espers, have heard of the final race. This is because they wish it to be so. The Ancient Espers are incredibly war-like and have enormous magic abilities. They have huge lifelines, in fact, none have ever been known to die of old age.

Unfortunately, they weren't invincible. Swords still cut them, arrows pierced them, and they died in wars just like everyone else. The Ancient Espers deemed every other race inferior and thus chose to remain apart from them. They changed their bodies, which originally looked like humans, into bodies more war-like. They chose bio-monster bodies and numan bodies, believing these were better for combat. They chose secluded spots for their towns and castles, especially mountains. They heard about what happened in 'the outside world' and merely laughed in amusement. They cared little or not at all for the well being of anyone but themselves. My story tells about one Ancient Esper's life and the important role it plays in the future of Algo. It sheds light to the questions some ask, such as who were Chaz's parents? What happened to them? The answers shall be told in the following story.
