Better late than never!

Postby ROMeo » Thu Jan 27, 2005 8:36 am

I finally finished PS-IV! :D
It's amazing how after a decade a game can still leave me with that feeling of "game finished, now what?". :)
Yes, it was easy, but at least didn't feel "Sudeki-easy", even if I felt a bit strange with the game only having one real buffer that actually forced me to stop and level (if not for Lashiec and his Zea-thouls I could have rushed the game in time-attack). The detail of choosing who comes with you for the final battle was also great, as it discards the inevitable bitterness many RPG gamers feel when they waste an eternity of man-hours on a character they don't know will either split or die (I chosen Demi for the medical power, even if it wasn't that necessary at the end, I felt good using Phononmeizer to my heart's content though).
About the ending, it didn't leave me that grunge-empty feeling of PS 2, but I l loved it, definitely the best PS ending I've seen. Too bad it left me craving for me as a good junky. Now I just need a SMS emulator with sound that works on XP to play PS1. :)
...er, scratch that last part, somehow tonight Kega decided to love me... oh well, guess I'll be catching up on PS1 now after all. :)

[Edit by ROMeo on [TIME]1106816017[/TIME]]

How about buying the originals?

The GBA port was adequate. You got what you payed for. Aside from the odd glitch and toned down sound, the games really didn't suffer much at the hands of a port.

And I can't *stand* poorly emulated sound, but I'm a perfectionist.
-Corey

I assure you, I was comfortable with playing it on such a small screen. I sacrificed sound quality and large pictures for portability. Not a bad trade.

That's cool, when I go out I'm either at work, with friends, doing Tae Kwon Do, or driving stick shift; none of which mix with portable video games ;p
-Corey

For phans, the original games are like treasures.
It would surely be a good investment, actually owning them instead of pirating.

I didn't like the PS 2 GBA port.. Why?
You didn't see enough damnit! Even on the Genesis, you saw more than you see on the GBA screen.
Walking around a dungeon you don't get to see enough ahead like on the genesis..
In my opinion, the Ps 2 remake's crappy resolution made it less than fun.

The port did suck (but I got it anyway XD) I find it surpising some people still haven't beaten PS4 yet XD, its the best of the PS series in my oppion (I had better say its the best consitering I've beaten it over 120 times more then that I just lost count around 120...

How about buying the originals?

My limit was buying a Sega-CD this december only to play again Batman Returns and Spiderman vs the Kingpin, and I decided to stop it at that point as I can't keep spending money on vintage games. Also PS1 was battery-save so it's a moot point now since there's no lithium battery that can last over 18 years working.
And yes Khyron, Kega is sheer joy. :)

*points and laughs* Hahahaha! The battery wouldn't last that long? Well, I don't know about that, but my PSI battery still works! Along with all my other games that save with a battery. Only Sonic 3 had its battery emptied.
You can't even make an exception for the good old Phantasy Star games? Guess you're not much of a phan then, or just like to pirate...

Talking about original games.
I have duplicates of every PS game just that I can play on one and still have another on in very good condition.
It´s not mint condition but I´m still looking for that. I can assure you that it´s very hard to find a PS1 to SMS that hasn´t been opened :D .
I got 4 japenes versions of the games 1-4 for the SMD. I was told and heard that they only made 1000 copies of that one.Like a tribute for the the PS series.
Anyone of you have them or can confirm it´s true?
