OMG!!! IT WORK'S!!!

I'm really bad with computers and he tried to install Phantasy Star Generation 1 on my laptop a couple of times.

Today it finally works!!!!

I cant stop playing it lol. Everyone is upto lvl 26 already! And I'm only just arrived in Bortevo.

I have never hated grinding. And I went a bit overboard with Alis. I was lvl 13 before I even bothered to get the roadpass! But damn were those motavia enemies hard! I though...easy exp here lol. Barely escaped my first fight alive. Came back later with Myau and Odin...and barely escaped a fight with 3 Sharkin! (Both Myau and Alis died!)

So a HUGE thanks to everyone here, who translated the game. The title screen alone was worth it!

I have wanted to play this for years! I remember on my lunch break, buying a magazine and reading about this reboot. I waited for it to be released....and waited...and waited. Then found out..they wern't going to! Damn SEGA!

I'm now, just worried that I am not going to pace myself and run through the whole game! Oh well Ill have to play it again.

How I got Alis to lvl 13? Easy. I just wandered around killing everything I met.

How I got PS1 to work:

Step 1:
I downloaded Phantasy Star Generation 1 Lutz Edition from this website. I prefer Lutz being his name as Noah is just the renaming of the character for the US release. But if you prefer Noah then download that version.

Step 2:
I downloaded PCSX2 as it was recommended.

Step 3:
I created a folder on my desktop and named it Phantasy Star

Step 4:
I Opened and installed PCSX2 and didn't change anything until I came to the bios screen. I set Japan. As the game is Japanese not USA of Europe (sadly)

Step 5:
I moved the PCSX2 file's to my Phantasy Star folder

Step 5:
I open the PS1 Lutz edition file. It then shows a README file and a folder with Lutz edition. I double clicked on Lutz edition. Then found the file PSG1.iso. I moved that file (and only that file) to my Phantasy Star folder.

Step 6:
I then Ran PCSX2. I clicked on the second tab CDVD and clicked ISOO selector and browse. I clicked on my Phantasy Star desktop folder and selected PSG1.iso.

Step 7: I then clicked on the first tab "System". And chose "Boot CDVD (full)"

And then it worked and I've been glued to my laptop ever since

I've no idea how the PSG2 translation is coming along, although I suspect it's quite slow going, if not "temporarily" suspended.

Also, I wonder if Missagh has the code to that java game. I was thinking that it might simply need a rewrite in the current java language, something I'd like to take a crack at.

- PSG2 French translation is near completion, English progress quite quickly (but yes, it's slow ; it took 2 years for Kyence to translate PSG1, and PSG2 is much verbous)

- which Java game are you talking about ? If it's the PS1 remake, it's on github, the source is available

I know -_- I saw the thread may an hour after I posted this. Before, I'd only read some comments on the PSCave facebook page, so i had no real grasp of just where the project was, at least until I read the thread for it :3

SO far I am really enjoying it.

LOL I am massively over leveled though. Alis, Myau, Odin and Lutz are all lvl 47 currently.

I have just finished the Lac Sword tower and was disappointed that the Red Dragon was very easy to beat. So far that's 3 bosses, that were push overs. I'm hoping Medusa will be a better challenge.

It does seem a bit op to have heal gems equipped to everyone.

To give an example of what I mean, I had 2 runs in the Lac Sword tower:

1st run, no gems: Made it to level 4. Explored as much as i could but had used up all 8 trimate's I brought in plus had used up almost everyone's MP.

2nd run, with gems: Beat the Red Dragon. Used 1 Trimate and zero heal spells.

hahahahahahahaha, I've gotta try that. I'm currently experimenting with other PS2 games to see how well they'll work. While I'd really like to play Alelier Iris, it's not rendering accurately enough for me to feel comfortable playing through it. Looks like I'll need to do some graphic plug-in hunting :3
