which one do you think is better ps4 or ps2? i personaly think that 4 is better because it had more of a plot, was easier, had much more character development and its dungeons wern't so freaking long and hard.

Yeah, I also prefer PS4 over PS2; PS4 is easy to complete, but it is more fun to play and it has the best plot in the series, PS2 I don't like very much because the battles are challenging yet boring, don't like the open ending much, battle background is just some computer grid, and the music's not as good as the rest of the PS series.

[Edit by ThePeaGuy on [TIME]1092243003[/TIME]]

I have more pleasure playing PS4 than PS2 because of all the dialogues. Also, the game is easier, and seems to be more agile, as you don´t need stay for hours - or even days - in one point massively leveling up, except, maybe, in the end. The music and graphics are a huge advancement from PS2 to PS4 too.
But as for the geniality of the plot twists, PS2 hits the target like not many games I know have done. Nei´s death, the heros being hunted by the governmental army, the final revelations from Lutz and the Eartmen... PS4 kinda misses it by far.
I don´t really like the excessive cameos of elements from PS1 in PS4. It goes tdown to the point where it´s just silly and irritationg, like the Naura cake shop mission, and a town dedicated to Alis, where you don´t get any kind of vital information for the main plot line - and that you can even avoid if you want. The constant refferences to things that are 2000 of years old gets me to my nerves.
This is what makes me put PS4 in the 4th place on my favorite PS list, just behind PS2.

The only part in PS4 where I really feel the need to level up is just before Lashiec. Everything else is challenging, but can be done at low levels if your strategy is good enough. Usually if I didn't skip Vahal Fort I don't feel the need to level up toward the end.
Gameplay and story aside, 4 has the best graphics and music in the quadrilogy.
"Quadrilogy" is a stupid word. %)

Bah! BAH I SAY!!! PSII kills PSIV!
Not saying that PS2s graphics are better or anything like that... but it was just way more enjoyable/memorable for me. I dunno... I just like it better.
[Edit by zoothe on [TIME]1092272680[/TIME]]

PS4 by far, PS2 was okay but seriously I HATE THE DAMN DUNGONS O_O if only they would make a patch to drop the freaking encounter rate then maybe it woudln't be so damn annoying to play the game over again... Ps2 has a good story, characters, plot, but the battles and gameplay is where it fell... the battles were boring and basicly slow. the encounter rate made it more annoying to do then anything else, the bosses were challenging at times but still annoying as the basic enemys... Not really hard but they stay alive more then they should >.> The game wouldn't be so hated if the encounter rate had be lower and/or making the battles more fun and not a freaking trial to go though every time... Never in a game have I wanted to stop playing before I even got a third character >.>
PS4 had everything ballenced well... well besides the basic challenge in the game... Its basicly an easy game to play and get though...

I'm, of course, biased towards 2 but to say 4 is better because of the graphics or music or ammount of dialogue is kind of a given. 4 came out years (plural) later. 2 was out at the time when console RPGs didn't have much dialogue. RPGs were about levelling up, navigating dungeons and solving puzzles. It is with that in consideration that I chose 2 as the best long ago. It got a great deal of story across with very little dialogue. (as Monocromatico says, a pretty damned good story, too)
Not to mention the fact that its not really hard its just annoying.

It wasn't a chore to me, as I love leveling up and making my characters stronger. :)
It was a good challenge, too.

I am still stuck at Juza (yes laugh at me if u want) can anyone give me some suggestions to beat that retard?

Juza has two attacks that damage your whole party: Zan and Forceflash. Since you don't have anything at this point that heals everyone, you'll have to prioritize who gets healed first, and who can take a few more licks. If you unequiped Rune's Wood Cane before he left, you can do the "Use" command on that to cast Res an unlimited number of times (only in battle), so do that to keep your TP from getting low as you progress through the dungeon. You should probably buy a few Dimates though, just to be safe.
This is what I recommend for the first round:
Alys: Saner
Chaz: Attack
Rika: Deban
Gryz: War Cry
Hahn: Vision
Hahn and Rika should be your primary healers, but have Rika use Doubleslash when you get a chance. Have Alys use Shift on Chaz. After Chaz's attack power goes up, start using Crosscut. Keep attacking with Gryz, Vortex with Alys, and attack with Chaz when he runs out of Crosscuts. Juza ought to fall rather quickly. Sometimes he'll use Foi, which does negligable damage to Alys and Chaz. Use the opportunity to punish him.

I prefer PSII over PSIV, for the same reasons people don't like it. Hard dungeons? Bring 'em on. Lots of leveling up? That's one of the best parts.
Besides, PSIV wasn't nearly challenging enough.
Now, if we combined the best elements from both games...

Hard dungeons is one thing (God knows most of the RPGs I've played have dungeons so easy I could sleepwalk through them), but in PSII and PSIII they're just tedious, given your slow walk and high encounter rates. PSI has this encounter rate problem on the world map, but it's more balanced in the dungeons (even though the enemies are generally tougher). I just keep getting lost in the PSI dungeons, but completing them doesn't seem like as much of a chore as it does in 2.
