RIP David Eddings

So, in a day that was already moderately disheartening due to the passing of David Carradine, one of my favorite authors, David Eddings, died as well. He, along with his late wife Leigh, wrote the Belgariad and the Malloreon series of fantasy novels. While at times being derivative (even of his own work), his wonderful characters and realistic outlook on the fantasy genre left an indelible mark on future authors and readers.

As you may be able to tell from my sig, it's a series that I re-read often with fond remembrance. I figure I'd spread the news, that is all.

Mind telling me the genre this chap worked on? And now that we're on this topic, could you recommend some of his works? I need some literature to entertain myself instead of just playing games.
