Phantasy Star on the VC

I have seen that the original Phantasy Star is slated for release on the Wii Virtual Console in Japan in April, 2009. North American releases typically follow pretty shortly after.

Does anyone have any idea when exactly it is going to be released in North America? I want to introduce my nephew to the game by buying it for him as a gift.

Unless I'm mistaken, all 3 of the Genesis PS games have been released on the Virtual console. The only one I'm not certain of is PS4 which, if not released, is slated for release.

I can't help you with PS1 being as I previously thought that title had already been released.

Yeah that's where I found out about the Japanese release of Phantasy Star 1 this month. I was just wondering if anyone had an idea of how long after that it will take to come to North America.
