The Sega Master System, with Alex Kidd in Miracle World built-in.

Nintendo Entertainment System. Lots of venerable third-party series started on this system, so despite the 90% crap lineup, the remaining games were awesome.

An Atari 2600 with lots of games built-in. There was a never-ending kick-ass rally game (there was a myth that the game ends after beating some many hours, though). Sigh, old-good childhood days.

Well, my first console was the NES, but that was there because my dad enjoyed it. The first console that I ever actively sought out was the Nintendo 64, with Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire. And then Goldeneye 007, which pretty much got me into gaming.

NES. The game that came with it was the SMB/Duck Hunt. HAd about 10 other games for that christmas or my birth day.

I had a coleco brand "Intellivision", which had oldschool kickass games like 'TRON', the treasure-hunting game 'Venture', the fear-inducing 'Night Stalker' and the original 'Advanced Dungeons & Dragons'. Games like this are classic testaments to the level of 'difficult' games. To this day, I've not found a walkthrough for Maze-A-TRON that tells you how to beat the MCP... and I've only reached the high-point of TRON: Deadly Discs once, where the enemies are orange and kill you with one touch. No FAQ I've found even mentions them. And damn, Donky Kong...

Even so, classic two-player games (often sports) bring back fond memories, such as the time my father and I were playing boxing, and I beat him in the first second, with one punch, a TKO. That was the greatest gaming moment of my life, when I beat my dad at a game, at the age of 4. (he'd kick my butt at baseball though).

...this is making me want to bust out the old system to see if it still works. I doubt modern TV's could still handle the oldschool hookup.

I've kind of been a cheap ass when it comes to that area. Of course, video game consoles are kind of hard to find where I am for some strange reason to... Most of my video game experience has been with roms and emulators from off the web and a few CD games.

My first computer that had games on it was a Windows 95, but it sucked. Windows 98 was pretty good for snes and gens games. Windows ME, Vista and Mac sucked with roms and pretty much, all other games in general. And finally, my current computer (Windows XP) is just awesome. It can play CD games and roms with no problems. It's my favorite computer so far.

I guess my first hand held console was a gameboy colour. I later got a gameboy advance with three games for it. Fire Emblem Blazing sword, Fire Emblem the Sacred Stones and Sword of Mana. That's about it...

I'm guessing that your Windows 95 computer wasn't that fast, because I run Windows 95 and have no problems with emulators and games at all.

The roms ran at normal speeds. Grapics were the problem. I remember playing Chrono Trigger and at the beginning of the game when Crono is sleeping and his mom wakes him up from bed, it looked as though he was standing on top of his bed rather than in it.

At first I thought the rom was corrupted or something but I put it on a CD and it worked great with my Windows 98. That was indeed strange.

That has nothing to do with Windows 95 or the computer it's on, and everything to do with the emulator.

Windows 95, 98, etc. are operating systems. If you have problems with one or more programs, blame the program instead of the operating system or the entire computer.
