Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana is coiming out TODAY! For any of you who don't know what it is, it's a beautiful looking rpg being released by Nippon Ichi (Disgaea, Phantom Brave).
Also, their next strategy rpg, Makai Kingdom (which is *supposed* to be a cross between Disgaea and Phantom Brave) will be out next month.
Lastly, is anyone here planning on importing the new Ys game? The Oath of Felghana (a proper retelling of the Wanderers From Ys story, for PC) ships from Falcom on the 30th! For about $100 shipped, you get the game and EIGHT Ys music cds! Oh I can't wait for that one.

[Edit by zoothe on [TIME]1120097265[/TIME]]

Never heard of any of them. Is the one coming out today made from RPG Maker, or is it it's own program?

Atelier Iris is actually part 6 (I think) of the Atelier series of RPGs. This is the first onie to be released in the US I believe. It's got to be one of the best looking games ever for the PS2.
Anyways, here are some links:
Atelier Iris:

8 Y's music CDs?! that's worth the price of admission alone! if only i had disposable cash... !@#$
atelier iris is intriguing to me. let me know how it plays out. whenever i hear atelier i keep thinking of costume and fashion, so i have a warped perception of how this game would be. it'd kick ass if you are in an RPG to "once again save the world" but through growing your fashion house so that the whole game world learns to dress with marvelous fashion sense and thus defeat the great evil of hideous frumpiness! but i have a sinking suspicion it has nothing to do with that.

let me know how they are! :pop:

First off: Atelier Iris is great! It's a very "traditional" console RPG (ie: 2D graphics and turn-based battle system). It reminds me heavily of Breath of Fire III and IV (which were two of the best in the series and two of the better RPGs released for the PSX). In my opinion, if you enjoy RPGs, you shouldn't pass this game up.
Secondly: I just got my copy of "Ys: The Oath in Felghana" and was simply blown away. Anyone who liked "Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim" will thoroughly love this game!!!! Yes, this first edition release comes with EIGHT music cds!!! I'm posting a link below to a nicely translated version of the offical game website. It was originally posted on the Ancient Land of Ys Forum:
http://www.classicgaming.com/ninjagaiden/ys/ysf/index.html
You'll be able to read a little more about the release and even the music cds, as well as download demos and music. Enjoy.
ps: Ill-Intent, if you're out there... what do you think of the game?

[Edit by zoothe on [TIME]1120515376[/TIME]]

Yeah, I definitely suggest you try to pick up the first edition with all the music cds. Most of the ones included are reissues of long-since-out-of-print Ys III music cds, so this is a good way to get your hands on some rare stuff.
The game itself is SOOOOO kick ass! If you liked Ys III at all then this game will blow you away!
Also, as I try to stay on topic: NIS America has begun taking pre-orders at their online store for their latest SRPG, Makai Kingdom. If you hurry you can still pick up a bonus artbook with pre-order. At the moment, I don't know if the bonuses will also be available at retailers like EB or Gamestop.
www.nisamerica.com
