Hmmm...

The place to chat round the fire, share a tale, and just about anything else you'd like to do

Hmmm...

A few friends and I are considering launching a site dealing with popular culture stuff. More precisely videogames, movies, animation and books.

The videogame part would not follow exclusively what is going on presently in the industry and focus more on just the simple fun of it, covering games in their emulated form if we feel like it or going after current generation games. An animation section covering ANYTHING animated. Even stickma gif animations. The movie section would go after ANY movie we like regardless of its timeframe and the same with books. We could review a Tolstoy book, a crappy zombie movie from the 80's or an old game like Pong.

Something extra would be talking about current issues... like for example the BP oil spill... An extra section (tentatively called SRSBSNS). Still, everything would be treated in an informal way, potentially with swearing varying from light to heavy, depending on the purpose and mood of the writer.

My question is... Would you even drop by a site like that?

Do you mean a blog/review type of website?

Sounds interesting and very wide :) I would definitely follow it, but i think it would appeal more if it was more subject specific, as therefor, when there is a new post, I would know if I have a personal interest in it. With subject specific, I dont mean one form, it could be a theme but covering several artforms, e.g. aintitcool (movies, comics etc).

Yeah. I gotta think about it a lot. It's not yet even in Alpha stage, I would say. It's just a bunch of ideas at the moment.

The thing is that we don't want it to be exactly the same way as other sites.

We'd like to offer something different.
