Sonic 4
It's a shame that they won't port it to Linux devices anyways. ;(
It will be available for Wii, PS3, XBox 360, iPod Touch and iPhone.
I'm once again considering of buying Wii.
Here's some footage.

Yeah I am actually excited about Sonic 4. I have high hopes for this game unlike Sonic06 and Unleasehd which I figured both would turn out disappointing. Aaaaaaaaaaaand they did.

You got it wrong; Sonic Unleashed was good.
I'm not looking forward to Sonic 4. It started as a "back to the roots" game with HD graphics as extra flavour. That detail alone should have told you that they didn't really mean it. Next they introduced a stiff 3D sprite, the spin dash and the homing attack.
The homing attack. An ability that was designed to solve the problems associated with jumping on enemies in 3D, in a 2D game.
It's just another DS game, but on steroids, with more bad ideas. The iPhone-only levels are especially stupid.

I will buy it...but I'm wondering what makes it any different than Sonic Rush. If it is the same then that is fine because Rush was very fun.

I want it. Despite "going back to the roots" and having HD 2D graphics and "not really meaning it" as Benoit says, a 2D game like this is still a very nice addition for me.
I love old school games that are NEW, not just ports of old titles. Megaman 9 and 10 are among my favorites of all time and replaying the original Sonic games was a blast thanks to the Genesis collection I found. I'm definitely getting the full game once they release all episodes.
I haven't played the Sonic 06 game, so I can't speak about the finished product, but I didn't find the demo all that difficult when I tried it on the 360. Sonic Unleashed, however, I didn't like one bit... Sonic turning into a wolfhog? What kind of marihuana were they smoking? Highly concentrated maybe? Geez... But hey... To each their own...

There's more than just the werehog stages in Sonic Unleashed, you know.

Sounds rather strange, but I leave no opinion as I haven't even seen any screenshots...

If sonic unleashed (PS3 version) was just all day stages, and no night stages, it would have been epic. But the slow button mashing long night stages really made an impact on how bad it was.

Ah, crap... I totally mistook the thread and posted something completely unrelated...
Anyways, I want Sonic 4... Off to finish Sonic and Knuckles!

that and even some of the day stages had glitches to them. If they were more polished I might've enjoyed it more.

Glitches in the day stages? Did you play the HD version? It seems to me that everyone who complains about the game has played that one instead of the PS2/Wii version.

I never found any glitches. Also finding those medal things (I forgot what they are, haven't played it in a year) to unlock next location was a bitch
