He, along with his late wife Leigh, wrote the Belgariad and the Malloreon series of fantasy novels. While at times being derivative (even of his own work), his wonderful characters and realistic outlook on the fantasy genre left an indelible mark on future authors and readers.

As you may be able to tell from my sig, it's a series that I re-read often with fond remembrance. I figure I'd spread the news, that is all.

Eddings spent most of his literary career in the fantasy genre. Like I said, my personal favorites are the Belgariad and its sequel the Malloreon series.
The first book is "Pawn of Prophecy". Go ahead with that one.

His other great series is the Elenium and the Tamuli. Each only consist of three books a piece. "The Diamond Throne" is the first, I believe.

He wrote some other stuff later. But these are considered to be the best.

Didn't he have a T.V. series back in the day?

Naw man, there's a whole other topic for David Carradine. David Eddings, the author, just happened to have died on the same day in a much less exotic manner. I can't help but feel like he would have preferred it that way.
