Sonic - Kicks ass, but Sega has let me down.
Bioware - Always the RPG God!
Nintendo DS - Great handheld console.
I still need to see some reviews, though.

gameinformer gave it a 8.5/8.5 score.

I trust Game informer, so I might get it.

Although I thought it to be a cool concept, I am not interested in the DS. Phantasy Star Zero looks cool though. Wish it was on the Wii (it needs RPG games...badly).

The amusing dialogue is really the only draw. Otherwise it's a too-short RPG with sloppy platforming aspects and tinny half-songs, including a terrible remix of the Sonic and Knuckles final boss theme. Still infinitely better than recent Sonic titles, though.
Plus, Robotnik says the phrase "young and full of beans" at some point, and that's just worth the price of admission.

With the advent of Sonic Adventure, I lost complete interest in the Sonic the Hedgehog series.
Making an RPG just affirms that Sonic has gone to shit, imo.

By that logic Mario has gone to shit since 1995 since Super Mario RPG for the SNES.

that makes no sense at all. He implied that the SA series was the beginning of crappy sonic games and Sonic RPG continues this streak. The mario games up to and including Mario RPG were solid games.

He didn't say that it affirms the mediocrity of the series because the RPG is bad. I think you read too much into it. He clearly said that it was the act of making an RPG with Sonic in it.

Super Mario RPG was fun, and so were all of the other Mario RPGs. Being this a Phantasy Star message board, how would you feel if PS were to become a fighting game, or brawler like Streets of Rage. It's like making Castlevania a fighting game, though it does look fun. Or what about a SoR RPG. O_o

I wonder how many of you have considered the irony... no... more like coincidence that Peegai is a legitimate Phantasy Star "Phan", but seems so unreasonably distressed over a Sonic RPG which looks like one of the best RPGs for any console to emerge in a long long time.
I, speaking only for myself, find this new game to be not only a relief, but Sonic's last ray of hope at holding on to any fame. This is probably the smartest move Sega has made since... umm...
The sad part is I really don't have an answer for that.

Making Phantasy star a Brawler?
Well actually I wouldn't mind seeing the old char in other games.
I feel they would perfectly fit in a Castlevania like plateform game. (If you look at the sprites, PS's and castlevania's are about the same size).
As long as I see motavian dezorians palmians and talking Musk cat, I'll consider any type of game as a true phantasy star. (Well I think, I didn't thought it through yet)
and then, as soon as I see space elves, I feel like it's not. (but still a good game possibly)

Exactly. That was my opinion.
I'm getting fed up of games incorporating RPG elements. It's boring.
And Sega hasn't produced a decent Sonic game since 1994/95 with Sonic & Knuckles. I care little for the 3D crap.

I guess that means me and HuBBs were both right.
