Trick question. I know you would.

Anyway, I was browsing E-bay today looking for a new copy of The Guardian Legend and I came across some interesting items. There are several new "pirate" consoles out that play Nintendo Entertainment System & Super Nintentdo Entertainment System and even one that can load both NES and SNES games! What I'd like to know is if anyone here would pick one up to play their old games!

That is it. It is quite impressive.

I'd buy it just to play my NES games since my NES is dead and maybe a SNES game or two.

HERESY is fun, HERECY is not XD

:P smarty @$$ pants. Everyone screws up from time to time. Yes, as hard as it is to believe, even me!

Personally, I wouldn't get one. I'd just buy a copy of the game I want and Download the emulator. Of course, we all know that there are inherent problems with ROMS. Sometimes, they just aren't up to par with the original game. That being said, I do intend to buy one for those games that don't run properly on an Emulator. But for now, I only want a copy of The Guardian Legend so I can legally make an updated version of the game without having to go thru all the hassle of getting official permission.

For those who don't know, you only need to own an original copy of the game you want in ROM format to legally download, possess, and operate said ROM. Otherwise, you have to create your own from scratch. I... kinda looked into it to be sure.

Abominae.. if you go to ZOphar.net and look at the hacks section.. There is a hack that RANDOMIZES the dungeon in Guardian Legend everytime you Apply the patch.

It moves the rooms around. No two patched games will ever be the same...

So you could use the path or contact the author to get the room order...

I have a much grander design for this game than any hack could do. I intend to make a fully upgraded version. Everything from basic game mechanics, to graphics, and hopefully more depth to the storyline (for those who'll consider it, no, I won't be changing anything that couldn't be applied to the original. I want it to be as true to the original idea as possible)

Thanx for the heads up. But I love the NES version just the way it is. I only want to see an updated version with at least 32-bit graphics (I've done graphic conversions like this before, so it won't be new to me) and maybe a few bug fixes (but leaving in those bugs we've come to know and abuse). It'll take a while, so don't hold your breath.

Look man, I love the game... but it's pretty f***ing hard as it is. This would be like... trying to play PS2 with each character only gaining half the regular amount of HP they normally get.

Why would you do that?

I love a challenge as much as the next guy... but I'm not looking to get fed a big bowl of my own ass. Anyone who's played this game who DOESN'T know it front to back (plus the glitches... which I rarely remember) knows what a big pack of hemmoroids it is.

F***! now I gotta get it just to know what it's like

Thanks a lot!
