Ok we all know that Xbox 360, PS3, and Nintendo Revolution are headed our way, but is it really worth your 300-500$ ? Let's take a look shall we? The xbox 360 (as it stands) has the highest graphics power. However! most of the quality anime/rpg games are released for the playstation systems. One more thing! the revolution is going to have a very unique backwards compatable feature... you can download and play just about every game from the N64 and earlier (for a small fee that is) Now that we all understand the "uniqueness" of each system what about the cons? Well #1 is the price ... no one should pay 500$ for a playstation 3 or 400$ for an "upgraded" xbox 360. The revolutions price has yet to be announced (stupid nintendo people ... they don't know what they're doing to thier own company A) releases thier system the latest B) They're trying to work with inovation rather than traditional gameplay pshh)
Now that I've had my rant about these 3 systems ... what do you think ? Which system are you going for ? What info do you have on these systems that will prove me wrong ? Is halo 3 your only reason for buying an xbox 360? go ahead and post your comments

If you need any additional information this site will provide you with 90% of the details
Rather premature for me to say this right now, I know, but I feel that the three new consoles are all gonna have fucking dull, bland and boring games, despite the hype.

I'd rather spend about $400 more (if you shop right/build your own machine) for a good gaming PC. A PC that can, you know, surf the web, type term papers, has moddable games.... need I say more?

I agree with you 100% you can buy better hardware than any of the systems for your PC and still get a lot mroe out of it AND the majority of good titles released for the systems are released for PC

I can see where you're coming from, but I would rather keep my gaming and my internet browsing seperate. In the same vein, though, I'm not going to pay the obscene amount of money these consoles will undoubtedly cost.

I´d rather upgrade my PC than buy an entirely new and only slightly better console with compatibility issues with previous versions.

2 Things have appealed for me as far as Revolution:
- Online SSBM
- The downloadable games. I would enjoy to do play my old favorites again without the use of an emulator.

You wanna know something sad?
This right here, as quoted about development using the NExt Gen systems.
It goes in with Naka's comment in the interview about games taking to long to make.

- EGM interviewed Square Enix director Yoshinori Kita, regarding to the possibility of a PS3 remake of Final Fantasy VII; He said it would take a team of 300 people to develop the remake in the quality of PS3, and the development would last 5 years. He has so many other projects in the pipeline and a FFVII remake would be a heavy task. He commented if the timing is right, it is a very interesting perspective. It seems Square Enix's first PS3 project is presumably Final Fantasy XIII, instead of the FFVII remake.

Now let that sink in and realize that most of the games will be rehashes, since it'll take too long, and too many people to use the full possibility of the PS3.
It's not looking good for the NExt Gen Systems.. If the games take too long to make.
Ports and Rehashes anyone? 100 new SPORTS GAMES! x.x

I'm done with consoles. They were great in the days of yore when 8-bit and 16-bit technology would blow any computer game out of the water...now I'm content to have a nice supercomputer that makes me coffee and ice cream. But I hate coffee, so maybe hot chocolate instead.

Yeah consoles have gone overboard... I'm a fan of gameplay as opposed to graphics but if it looks beautiful then there's a plus... My favorite games of all time are the original sonic the hedgehog series and I still play them all the time. And a computer that would make me hot chocolate would be the greatest thing ever.

Nintendo Revolution will be the cheapest one (probably in the mid $200's). And besides, it'll have games like Metroid Prime III, new Zelda's, and maybe even a new Mario (thats isn't Sunshine or Paper). I'll probably grab the Revolution because it'll be cheap, and can play my old GC games, as well as the older N64, SNES and NES games. Also, the thing is tiny, and uses almost 100% wireless for everything (GC controllers and power, and TV hookup are the only wired parts).
Main reason I also don't care about the X-Box 360 is because they hype up the 3 processors...how useless when the thing has only 1 task going, the games. And the PS3 looks good, but as mentioned I can see alot of re-hash games. I admit though, I'd probably buy a FFVII remake.

There are things to look forward to on each console. Each fan-base has diferent games to look forward too. Take these for examples:
-The New Perfect Dark, this game won many fans, utilizing its classical succesful Golden Eye gameplay, but adding more difficulty and more game situations. Its sure to be a great sequel landing on the XBox 360 (wtf right?)
-We can also use our own fan base as Phantasy Star people, seeing the newest title landing on the PS2, which may force PS3 purchases, as no one really wants to buy a PS2 right now beofre PS3 releases. Also, the Soul caliber 3 will be hitting this system to grab peoples interest
-Revolution is now the "legal emulator" for us to use. As was as playing some GC greats. And as stated above, online Super Smash Bros, which many people could agree that the series is one of the most balanced fighting games to hit shelves, ever.
These are just a few points on how people may make their decisions. More will have to unfold for me to make mine though.

Well, chances are by the time we see the Phantasy Star remakes, the 'trilogy' will be out on the next gen system anyway. Backwards compatibility is always nice. Plus I admit Nintendo went horribly wrong with the gamecube. If you didn't notice, most of the games had little structure to them, and few if any RPG's were released for it. PSO is one of the only exceptions, in that it was a rather short game to begin with.
Then again, I never buy the new consoles. I always wait for them to drop several hundred in price before that happens. Didn't buy a gamecube until the Zelda promotional system came out. Didn't get a PS2 until I started wanting to play DDR more often (the pads now sit lifeless as I now use my PS2 to tear things apart in God of War). I wouldn't hold my breath for the FFVII remake. I remember seeing a clip of what they DID manage to remake so far, and it looks good, but it will take them far too long.
As for the hex box, I've seen the inside of it. They improved the graphics card and processors, but dumbed down the RAM. I could build a better LAN Party PC for what they want to charge for it. And it'd be lighter too! XD
Needless to say, I've never like Microsoft's intrusion in the console wars. I didn't buy the last door stop... I mean X-box, and I'm not going to buy this one either.

Even though the first one (story and single player) was much better than the second I think it was still worth it. I only use my xbox for Halo, DDR, Morrowind, and a few other much less important games
