Maybe it's because he feels that Metroid and Zelda games are a bunch of repetitive shit.

Maybe, but when I think of other good games I look to things such as Trauma Center, No more Heroes, and Mad World.

Thank you Captain Obvious. But a game console breaking after two or three years is not normal at all. Most NESs kept working. Most Master Systems kept working. So did most SNESs and Mega Drives. And so on. It wasn't until the PlayStation that we got abnormal failure rates.

Hmm. Well the internal RAM memory on my Sega Saturn was easily corrupted, thus prompting me to pay extra dough for a memory cart. I had no major setbacks with Sony's PS1. Sega, as a console developer, treated their consumers like shit.

And your talk of abormal failure rates reeks of fanboyism snobbery bullshit. If anyone buys and enjoys a playstation, they're retards with no taste or common sense. If you like playing the 1000th generic Mario title, you're cool in Benoit's book.

Some of us like to play mature games now and then ta. Nintendo offers nearly fuck all in that department.

And you base this claim on... what?

God forbid we talk about failure rates! Yeah, let's not care about how likely it is that our console that we paid with our hard-earned cash breaks down! Yeah, fanboy talk indeed.

I never said anything like that, and you know it.

All sorts. The Saturn was difficult to program, had crap support of RPGs, was expensive and also had a lot of technical faults like internal RAM being corrupted.

Despite that, I liked the games on it. Though it has caused me more migraines than Sony has.

First, what does this have to do with Sega's attitude towards the consumer? Secondly, the Saturn had a lot of RPGs in its early days, because Sony said it didn't want RPGs on its system. It seems laughable today, but that was their stance. Of course, they have since changed this.
was expensive

I've heard of expensive prices in Europe, but it was the same price in the US as the PSX.
and also had a lot of technical faults like internal RAM being corrupted.

You're basing this on your own experience. Most units worked fine. It also doesn't need to be a technical fault; shit happens.

I had a Saturn. It played well, for the most part. It would give me crap with Panzer Dragoon: Zwie... but other than that... I don't recall too many issues that couldn't sooner be traced to the poor condition of the game disc.

Speaking of Saturn... Has anyone tried Yabause out?
I bought Sega Saturn in 2000-2002 (can't remember exact time, but it was when we still had Markka as currency, not Euro) when Dreamcast was dying. I paid 600 Markkas (about 100 Euros) for it. The package included several games and two controllers. I think I made pretty good deal. :)
I'd like to use my laptop to play my Saturn games, because Saturn has (at least mine has) crappy scart cable. Nowdays I don't even have a television where to connect it!
I am NaN!
