Star Trek, Star Wars or Battlestar Galactica?

Postby Missagh » Thu Mar 20, 2008 12:56 am

Considering that we are in the sci-fi area :)
Do anyone watch Star Trek, Wars or/and Battlestar Galactica (newer version)? What is good and what is not?

And new Star Trek film coming, any thoughts?

I casually watch Star Wars. As for Star Trek, it's too weird for my tastes. Haven't seen Battlestar Galactica.

star trek and stargate and babylon 5. never could get into battlestar galatica. Star wars is good too.

I am happy to have the privilege of turning my wife into a trekki. She is a big fan of TNG.

 I fell a bit awkward comparing Star Wars to those series, sure, all are sci-fii but SW is more of an epic saga centered in just a few characters and dualistic struggle between good and evil, while in ST and BSG are more focused on ships and politics.

So overall, for me is Star Wars > Battlestar Galactica > Star Trek. BSG has more focus on story and have better script than star trek IMO that I just see as focusing more on pseudo-science babbling than anything...

Now >_< I'll pray and ask for mercy from the angry trekkie mob that will come after me.

the only star trek that i got into was voyager. A story of a crew that was stuck 75,000 light years away from home and making the journey back was interesting. Thats about it.

I am going to be in a fan based SW movie this summer. A buddy of mine is writing the script.

I would would like to mention that the last Star trek series sucked royally with exception to a few epsiodes.

Oh and babylon 5 beats all sci fi movies/tv series out there. I wish it went on for longer than 5 seasons.

Most sci-fi series are boring to watch.

Movies for the win.

I used to watch SW but The more I watched it, the less I liked it now to the point where I only watch it because it makes me think of the Family Guy/Robot Chicken spoofs ("Or I'll tell everyone how you cried like a little bitch over Padamamei or Panda Bear or whatever the f*** her name was!)

That, and Mark Hamill sux as an actor ("I'm Han Solo and the only actor who's career isn't ruined by this movie.). Plus he knew less than nothing about using a sword (Lightsaber - RL reference = Katana! It's a f***ing art using one of those b*****es!)

I still watch ST whenever I see it on TV. Never cared for other things Sci-Fi, 'cept PS of course. Well, there was Starcraft and Warhammer 40k. I'm sure there are a few more, I just can't remember any of them right now.

One of the greatest (and surprisingly prolific) voice actors of our time, the iconic cartoon Joker for god's sake, and this is the thanks he gets?

For shame, Abominae. For shame.

That is the only good thing he did.. VOICE ACTING for the Joker and Harabec on Starsiege.

He even fucked up his appearance on Son of the Beach

Thank god other people don't feel that Star Wars is the best. I saw the first three once during the 80's and never again. I never liked it and never got into it.

Thank god other people can get past the "I'm cool if I like Star Wars" trend. Same with Star Trek.

Yeah I never really got too much into the sci-fi shows on TV either. The only ones I watched were the orginal Star Trek, Star Trek TNG and some of the Star Wars movies. Then again I don't really watch TV that much anyways. I usally just watch animes and documentaries that I have on DVD and VHS.
