That's not a change of plot, but a change of narrative. It does not affect the storyline in the game, or the ending, does it?<p>It's just elaboration of back-story.

No, it is a plot change. That dictates the Fortress belonged to Rulakir and alludes to Dark Force.<p>The Minstrel wasn't supposed to speak about Dark Force

It's a proven fact in PS 3. That fortress summoned Dark Force, lusting for it's power. Orakio used his sword to seal it away.<p>It's self explanatory, Rulakir is still alive based on his hatred. <p>If you recall, Orakio never thirsted for Dark Force's Power, Him and Laya sealed Df away.

the japanese version gives more information... it tells you that the people of the tower summoned df due to longing for its power, and gives more concrete directions to the ancestors in the second quote.<p>but i thought df somehow got on board the worldship on its own... not that it was summoned. <br> <br>

In the japanese pS 3, Dark Falz awoke 1000 years after they left Palma and started the devastation war.<p>He was then sealed away by Orakio and 1000 years later you free him.<p>Ps 3 in the japanese version takes place 2000 years after PS 2.

And that's not the same for the English version?<p>I thought it was, or my calculations are wrong. (1000+1000=2000. Or is that wrong?)

The English version takes place at the same time as PS IV.

The facts: Orakio seals Dark Force away with his sword. Neither version changes or alters that fact. The English version is merely simplified... the translators likely omitted the details they thought were least important.
