In all the RPGS I have ever played Alis is the icon for me.

She's the one I always think of as the best character I have ever played.

What do you all think? Is someone more iconic?

I dunno. All the Final Fantasy hero's are rather silly and don't really hold up. I guess Chrono is, but I never played Chrono Trigger so its Alis for me. Link...well yeah, but as much as I loved Ocarina of Time and Majoras mask, I've never wanted to replay them.

Phantasy Star is still amazing and I play through ps1 every year, enjoying it just as much as I ever did. Cant say that about too many other games.

Yes Phantasy Star is a niche and not the main stream, but Alis is and always will be the greatest RPG protagonist for me.

For me Nei is also emblematic...look fragile but finally stronger than any men.
Some weapons bear his name. It's also incredible

Alis is a pretty good hero for sure - standing up against a tyrant at the age of just 16, all while starting off with nothing and having to traverse several planets

I will admit Final Fantasy protagonists can be a little strange in comparison, but I still think they’re great heroes regardless!
