Who is to say the Great Light was good and the Profound Darkness bad?

Was the PD's vision bad or just different? Had it won, maybe the Light Force would come out and wreak havoc every 1000 years.

Basically, I'd say that on the world of Algol, if a being lives:

in joy, then the Profound Darkness is a villain.
in suffering, then the Profound Darkness is an opportunity for the being to move on to something else

An entity that aims to kill and destroy everything is surely pretty evil.
